The most rushing yards for a QB is Pavia with 537. The most rushing TDs for a QB is Milroe by a damn mile with 12.
Mertz is/was remarkably efficient and doesn’t turn the ball over. He’s never going to be above mid in the yards/TDs department but it’s not surprising rating loves him.
Read a scenario that if LSU, A&M and Georgia all win out then LSU wins tiebreaker against Georgia bc of H2H win vs Bama. Would be funny to potentially have #1 team in country miss conference title game. I'm also sure it's been discussed but the #5 seed in new CFP is a pretty sweet spot. Host a playoff game most likely against non P4 champ and then get worst P4 champ in next round.
I would still like to win the conference championship, but given a choice between an off week to get healthy vs. a low reward game against a tough opponent, I think missing the game entirely is the better outcome for most teams.
Thinking about this a little more, in the current setup, I wonder how many times the loser of the SEC championship will get left out of the playoff in favor of a team that didn’t play. Not hard to think of situations where the other participant in the SEC championship is ranked like 10-12 and a loss would fuck an otherwise playoff season.
I think that's a pretty thin needle to thread. In a lot of those scenarios, I think the SECCG loser would have won the H2H matchup against the hypothetical team that didnt play in the SECCG
I'm not sure that conference championship games are going to be weighed very heavily, maybe only to split hairs and justify close decisions.
I'm talking about the scenario where an otherwise deserving team loses and misses the playoff. I think, at least in the SEC, that scenario isn't very likely at all.
Losing the conference championship game will always be brutal. It means you trade a potential bye for a loss.

If it makes you feel better, I think y’all make it to Atlanta and beat Texas to get there after dropping a game at Carolina or Auburn.
Y’all are good. Elko is good. Just think those two road trips have real trap potential at this point in the season, this week in particular.
It’s nice UF got to play the two worst teams already. Of course that means we are going to get killed the rest of the way.
Columbia should be an incredible atmosphere on Saturday night. No idea if you'll get the team that stomped OU or the team that got ran out of the building by Ole Miss
Ya'll get us after we play UGA so you could easily be facing a pretty unmotivated team there at home.
If aTm and UGA win out, they both are 11-1. If LSU wins out, they are 10-2. LSU and UGA wouldn’t go to a tiebreaker
The SCar game is by far the scariest game to me outside of the Texas game they remind me of Arky but they have an OC not trying to force a dual threat guy into an air raid offense
CFB officiating has always been questionable at best, but if this season doesn’t lead to some sort of change, nothing will. It’s been absolute garbage across the board.
Wait, really? It’s not overall record first? Goddamnit, that means I wasted like 3-4 hours going over tiebreaker scenarios this weekend based on overall record first.
I spent the time making a google sheet with every team’s conference opponents conference winning percentages thinking it’d get down that far in tiebreakers with a bunch of 10-2 teams. I even figured out how Alabama could make it to Atlanta. Oh well… at least I won’t waste time tracking the rest of the season.
Wait, I’m pretty sure my scenario still works at 6-2 so long as Alabama wins out, Ole Miss wins out, and then Tennessee picks up a second loss. LSU just needs to be added to the chart since they’d only have two conference losses. So I guess I’ll keep tracking until one of those things isn’t possible.
It won't until something happens in the playoffs/championship game. Even then it will have to happen to a blue blood that has significant pull.
