Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] Just a little suggestion. Take that out of the thread title in case someone scrolls over it. Or not.
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] didn't even think about that, thanks
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] Daeny's POV when she takes the Unsullied is my favorite chapter of the books so far. I thought something might happen when she pretended she didn't understand the slave owner's disrespect, but I figured she was just that desperate for an army. I was like wtf when she offered to give up a dragon. But then when she took the army, burned the slave owners, and had her new army sack the city, I wanted to cheer. She is my favorite character in the books, by far.
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] Actually found myself getting pretty upset when she offered to trade away Drogon
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] That chapter was fucking awesome, I was freaking out about her giving away a dragon, then I was like :ohholyfuck:
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] One of my favorite parts is when Fat Belwas fucks up that homo knight with the 14 foot lance.
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] This was the PM I sent WBN after the Red Wedding Was crushed.
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] scuse me it's Strong Belwas, and he's one of my favorite characters in the series
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] The good thing about the Red Wedding was Catelyn getting murked But Grey Wind man...
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] fuckin red wedding. knew it was going to happen though because catelyn was the only POV into Robb's crusade and she had been all over the place.
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] I was bummed after reading the Red Wedding chapter... Then, I thought the Starks WOULD think someone would accept marrying their daughter to a worthless dipshit instead of the fucking King of the North and the Starks WOULD go into a fucking castle basically unprotected to complete that deal. Still, Martin is a douchebag and I kind of lost a lot of my boner for the series around that part of the third book.
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] Finished the 3rd book last night. Almost every character getting killed off was kinda annoying, made things a little to predictable. At least Tyrone lived
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] wat? and Cat isn't dead, just a zombie. so really only Robb, Tywin, and Joffrey die.
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] cause you resemble his physical figure amirite?
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] Cant wait for the Freys to get fucked up.
Re: Storm of Swords Thread [ONLY ENTER IF YOU HAVE FINISHED BOOK 3] best part is when he shits at the city and wipes his ass with the dude's cloak
No. I just finished SoS and am really interested to see where his character goes. A little wary of a FfC, as everyone says it's the worst of the series.
It probably is but its not as bad as people say, just go ahead and prepare yourself for a lot of your favorite characters, Jon, Tyrion, Dany etc... not being in the books which sucks, but if you're prepared for that and take the book for what it is, its still pretty good. Up to this point you really don't know much about Dorne and the Martells and you get a lot more of them in the book which I found really interesting.
yea its not that the book is bad, its just that book 3 is pretty much impossible to follow up since he wants this to be a 7 book series its a good book but some chapters are pretty ponderous
Ya, the new POVs look kind of interesting, but I checked the DwD POV list, as it supposedly occurs concurrently, so I didn't see the harm, and that looks pretty awesome. On a different note, did anyone else feel like the middle/ third fourth of SoS was the craziest? Maybe I just felt like the Red Wedding etc overshadowed everything else, but it just seemed like the craziest. Granted the rest of the book was still awesome but, everything that happened in that middleish portion of the book was absolutely nuts.
Yea that was the most :ohholyfuck: part of the series so far. And ADWD is concurrent with AFFC for half of the book. After than it is caught up and the second half continues with the timeline
Has anyone else thought that maybe Lord Beric is the real Asshai Azai or whatever reborn? It seems like Aemon was getting at something like that when he was asking about whether the sword actually burned or not. Granted, this thread is probably just filled with people that have already read the next book and are past the point I am at.
I'm thinking Dany is Azzor Ahai. I don't remember which book it's in, but whenever Melisandre is talking about the signs of who Azzor Ahai would be, it describes Dany perfectly. From Melisandre's POV it makes sense for it to be Stannid, but knowing what we know about Dany it seems obvious it's her. Also, Melisandre keeps talking about Azzor Ahau being able to awaken stone dragons and we all know Dany did that with the stone dragon eggs.
I think its obvious Dany is AA reborn which would potentially make Jon the Price that Was Promised however Melisandre seems adamant about there being a Dragon somewhere in Westeros that needs to be awoken from stone with fire and royal blood, so either Melisandre is completely wrong or is just partially wrong in thinking she needs Stannis.
Also pissed me off to no end that Tywin melted down Ice to create the other two swords for Joff and Jaime.
Didn't everyone always say his swords break, because of the fire? It's like a cheap gimmick? He has to manually light them and replace them all the time?
Yeah The Hound shattered his sword in their fight. I think Melisandre knows Stannis isn't the one she needs, she's just using him for the time being.
Just read over one of my favorite single sentences by GRRM in the entire series as I was rereading the book. The one when Tyrion sneaks up into the Hand's chamber and is killing Shae: He gave cold hands another twist as the warm ones beat away his tears. May just be me, but I find this quote to be fantastic, playing off of the song that Shae's singer made.
Just a little suggestion. Take that out of the thread title in case someone scrolls over it. Or not. Runescape Gold RS Gold Tera Gold
Just finished book 3. So if lysa was really the one that poisoned Jon arryn at the behest of littlefinger, then why did pycelle tell tyrion in book 2 that he helped arryn's squire do it? Was pycelle guessing who actually put the poison in his cup? How did lysa get it? Not all that important. Just curious if I missed something.
I think Pycelle was trying to convince Tyrion that he was all for house Lannister and he figured that Tyrion would believe him helping kill Jon Arryn was a good thing for the Lannister family since Jon knew about Jaime and Cersei.
that shit was amazing...what a book! Jon Snow is the man! I was so pissed off after the red wedding and poor arya...and i was convinced fat fuck was going to kill off sansa at the end....and WTF, Cat is still alive??? worried about book four after seeing this thread though
Where was the mention of a dragon in westeros? Also, is the red woman just that far the fuck off or is stannous about to raise some dragons of his own?
From our homeboard: acwill07 The Milwaukee Deep Post #2286 MyFanPage Add Buddy Re: A Dance With Dragons Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm about 500 pages into Storm of Swords and still really haven't gotten over the fact that they killed Eddard, who I felt like could've been an epic character. It seems like the Starks get shit on at every turn in these books. Poor guy has no idea how bad things will get right around the corner.
