Trading rich owners isn’t the solution. Hiring someone that fucking cares & doesn’t hire morons would be
I don’t see how another oil money team in the PL with endless amounts of money plays out well for us...
Disappointing because I wanted it to be true. https://www.fotmob.com/news/14jigxjbkgd9t1brlj3vru0blf-News Hope springs eternal.
I'm surprised this potential Ek bid has been given this much credence by the media. I guess it generates a ton of clicks though. really surprised that KSE felt compelled to comment.
Yeah, that is always the statement that would be released regardless of if they had received an offer or not. And will always be the statement, right up until they do actually sign the docs to sell.
I think it would have to be an exorbitant offer for them to consider selling. While the negative cash flows over the past year are uncomfortable, I’m sure, they won’t want to sell with valuations below the highs. Ek would have to finance a purchase with debt, which wouldn’t be too bad at current interest rates. But a heavily indebted owner would restrict further investment. I suppose he could cash out all of his Spotify stock, pay taxes on it, and try to buy Arsenal with what is left over but that wouldn’t seem very smart.
He won’t sell but think they’ll be forced to spend some this summer I don’t do well evaluating these things though, thought super league was a real thing and even ravennole could see it didn’t have a chance. Sad times
It's going to be interesting to see what Kronke does over the next 15-25 years. He owns all the area around the Pepsi Center in Denver, we're talking basically a 4 block x 8 block area encompassing the Pepsi Center and the amusement park, along with a bunch of acreage around Dick's Sporting Goods Park north of Denver (in Commerce City). There's been talk for 10+ years in the development world in Denver about him moving at least the amusement park out there and redeveloping that land. It's recently come out that there's at least talks about moving the Nuggets/Avs to a new building out on the land around DSGP and redeveloping the entire area. Moving the arena would suck SO HARD for Denverites. It's just shit getting out to Commerce City. But if he does that, he's adding acres of land to downtown Denver. Something you can't just can't do very often. If he decides to do that and just sell off the land, he'll make a shit ton of money and that would be that. If he decides to redevelop it himself, he would need buckets of cash available to make that happen. Higher risk with potentially astronomical rewards though.
it's not possible Tierney plays, right? would really be a massive boost to move Xhaka back into the midfield and have him at LB.
at this point what's the risk? would suck for him to have to rehab all summer but I'm sure he's dying to get out there. and you get 5 subs so if he comes off injured in the first half it's not a huge deal.
I had assumed he was done for the season. I really can't see him playing tomorrow. I think next week would still be a huge boost.
with the Arsenal fanbase, I can only imagine the clicks this story is generating. I did see a clip of him talking about it on Squawk Box so it's definitely a real thing from his end.
i’m torn, idk much about the new nordic spotify messiah and how much he’d invest in the team considering his net worth is about $4 billion. seems like a good dude compared to kroenke, and he seems to care growing up as a fan, but not sure how much we’d be limited financially. on the other hand, kroenke’s worth about $9 billion, plus his wife who’s worth about $7 billion, so theoretically they’d be the more likely to invest in the club. kroenke most likely sees this team as just another asset, however, but he has overseen the destruction of the club’s soul, values, and elegant playing style we used to be known for. idk man i just want my 4th place trophies, off the ball movement, dominating possession, creativity in the final third, and conceding a bunch of dumb goals arsenal back
Kroenkes aside, we’re in the current position because we’re the worst run club in all the big leagues, far and away. Literally couldn’t script it as bad as they have handled things.
Threat of getting left behind, when the next rendition of the SL rears it’s head might fuel KSE’s need to invest.
