Caught some New Japan matches today. Fans being able to cheer now. Crowd got hyped as hell for this Okada vs. Takagi match.
2 million is obviously pretty good, but I always thought they had more viewers for the big PLEs on Peacock than they do for a Smackdown episode.
I mean it's only $5 a month and Comcast customers were getting Peacock for free. Didn't think $5 would be that much of a deterrent.
I mean all out got what, I think I saw less than 150k buys. Way below their weekly numbers. Free streaming sites, plus just turning on TV and watching for free every Friday v remembering when PPV are, paying (even $5 a month), getting on the app and tuning in....I think it's insane to think they'd be close to their weekly show numbers. I'm actually really impressed by that 2 mil number
Yeah but AEW PPVs are $50 and all you get is the PPV, so don't really see that as an apples-to-apples comparison.
I just think it's an odd comment you made, and pointing it out. Not trying to make a one to one comparison
You can be an ESPN+ or Athletic subscriber for that much or less, and a bunch of huge sports fans on here don't subscribe to either and constantly ask for that stuff to be c/p in threads on here. $1 is a deterrent for a lot of people. So is $5.
Does NBC air Thursday Night Football? If not, what on Earth are they airing to be killing the competition like that on Thursdays?
It's been speculated will be back in WWE eventually, especially once word came out that Chelsea Green was going back. HE's said before he's making more money now than he did when he was in WWE, but Chelsea Green was too, allegedly...
Corey Graves still cracks me up sometimes. He just said Dom won’t be the one wearing handcuffs tomorrow night, or something to that effect, after Rhea saved him lol
It was for a shot to get into the EC and hopefully a shot at Bianca at Wrestlemania. If you recorded it, just watch the first 5mins of Raw. edit: I may have taken your question wrong now that I’m reading it again.
She was trying to keep them out of getting added to EC which if they won would give them a shot at her at wrestlemania? Idk man I’m not the booker I just watch.
I assume you’re just trolling but in the OP’s defense I think he said it could happen if they just disregard/squash SZ this weekend and people get pissed at the outcome. The promo last night Cody was hyping SZ up so basically the opposite of what his prediction hinged on.
Thank you. I trust Heyman, and he knows if they treated Sami as an afterthought like they did Daniel Bryan leading up to WM XXX, the same result could've happened. They've done the opposite, and I'm very happy about it. They've weaved the Sami/Cody storyline together perfectly. I give Heyman all the credit in the world on this, because if this was just Vince, they would've done the same thing (as they did with Batista/Bryan) and expected a different result. One more big hurdle, and that's Monday night. If they transition out of Roman/Sami in a way that makes sense (transferring the heat Roman has with Sami onto Jey), I think they'll be good on the way to Mania. And that was my only point, but because I'm an AEW guy, it fell on deaf ears. I'm a scorned lover that wants Cody to fail. Silly talk. I'm still not sold on Cody as a top guy, unless they turn him heel when it's time to do so down the line. We'll see. But they've handled him perfectly since the Rumble, and haven't repeated the Bluetista mistake. All the credit in the world for that.
I think this is a fantastic point. And all props to Trips and Heyman to tackle this head on for the last three weeks.
Don't think they'd let Roman drop this reign before Mania, but the chase is the whole story with Sami anyway, he doesn't need a lengthy title reign. Could get both Mega over with Sami winning at EC and getting one of best moments in wrestling recent history with him winning title on front of what will be a crazy home town crowd. Roman works his way back into title match because of rematch clause, whatever, and triple threat. Numbers game at Mania with Bloodline screw over Sami at Mania but Jey makes save and Cody pins Roman to win belt. Cody gets the belt and ends his storyline and is probably a better champ coming out of Mania for future storylines. Sami got his moment, Jey gets his moment and we can leave Mania with full on war between Jey/Sami (and maybe KO) v Roman, Solo and Jimmy in a storyline that doesn't need the belt
Previous post said, wwe have earned benefit of doubt with this storyline and I'm just interested to see where they take it
I wish they'd let Sami focus on Roman's Universal title and Cody on the WWE title. They could keep Sami's story going by doing some fuckery at EC and then having him pivot to a tag feud then revisit the Universal title as a Summerslam match if the angle is still hot. And it would let Roman carry the Universal title for over 1000 days Let Cody take the WWE title off of him for the story with his dad, win it at Wrestlemania and go to Raw with the belt.
I could be reading too much into it, but I thought Cody's promo hinted a bit at him turning on Sami. pumping up Sami for his own gain type of thing.
it just feels like sami is the last of the NXT legends that hasn’t got a world title win. I don’t watch wwe but man I hope he gets his chance. Kofi winning the world title was a top 5 WWE moment of the last decade, think sami winning would be the same
If you don’t watch something, how could you rank the top 5 moments of it? can you give us your top 5 WNBA moments of the decade next?
because I used to watch it a lot then realized nothing mattered and a more entertaining option emerged. I guess I can’t speak to moments that have happened in the last 2 years but I did watch the last hour or so of the royal rumble
