Mike Duncan’s A History of Rome and Emperors of Rome.

 

You’re Dead To Me is a fun show that has more one off episode’s but it has the host, a guest that is typically a comedian with no knowledge on the subject and then a historian who specializes in the subject.

The Rest is History is also a good one that does more series. They did a series on the American Revolution but from a British perspective that I enjoyed.

 

Woke up the other day with a Youtube video playing describing the fates of the Muslim population after the Siege of Malaga during the Reconquista. That was a brutal time, and the story was not an uplifting start to the day.

 

History Unplugged did a series on 10 battles of the Civil War a few years ago. They aren't polished storytellers, but it's a couple historians who know their shit and it had more of a couple nerdy buddies talking through each battle vibe to it. The guest in that series (names are escaping me) started a similar pod with the same format called Key Battles of American History covering multiple wars and where the host/guest were flipped.

I think it’s funny how when an ancient corpse is unearthed and the teeth are in pretty good shape, people think that’s strange. Sugar is a hell of a drug.

Don't know if there is a better place to put this, but this is pretty good. A massive piece of the puzzle of the global economy and monetary system. Was kinda figured out on the fly and has roots in the post WW2 rebuild, cold war, etc.

 

Very interesting series so far. In a lot of ways, USA becoming the world's imminent super power was a lot of luck
