I mean Blue Jeans aren’t allowed to be worn and it is enforced. Yet this guy shows up in PJ’s because he was wfh for 85% of the day
At casual Friday I normally show up in joggers and a t-shirt or long sleeve T. Otherwise I show up in slacks and a polo or button up, untucked most of the time. I’ll tuck it in if I’m feeling fancy.
I agree. Who the fuck cares? They came in and then left. I worked at a company for 10 years and there was no dress code. Worked in flip flops, shorts & t-shirt 60% of the year. Also weird rolling into an office building like that, but idgaf I was comfy
Going to be a challenge going away from my daily athleisure whenever I have to go back to the office.
Same, but not as long. My last 3 jobs/7 years have been this way and I won’t go back unless there’s a pretty significant incentive.
I went to Airborne school with this dude who was a complete ass and all-around loathsome individual. He always talking about how he was gonna stack bodies because he had an operator mentality and that women shouldn't be allowed to carry weapons, much less jump out of planes. His first day in Georgia he goes to a shitty tattoo shop and gets the parachutist emblem inked on his forearm with AMERICAN PARATROOPER emblazoned under it, despite never having put on a parachute. It was horribly done and incredibly cringeworthy. When jump week comes this badass gets NTR(never to return) dropped from the course for a safety violation caused by him panicking mid-air. Now he's a Petroleum Supply Specialist pumping gas on Fort Hood but will have that shitty, unearned tattoo forever.
For similar reasons, I regret the “Guy Who Has Sex” tattoo I had done on the morning of my wedding day.
My 59 year old co worker complained to me the other day that everybody has a lot of work on their plate except him. He's probably the highest paid of our group. I can't think of a better way to end your career than making more money than all your co workers while having less work than all of them.
I'm sure plenty like him exist, but it's always hilarious and cringy. I know a guy who has "devil dog" tattoo'd on his left and right bicep... pretty sure he was dishonorably discharged. And he never saw any action.
I have a ‘gotcha meeting’ on my calendar for today. I’m in systems support and our client managers are all pissy because they think I’m ignoring a certain field update that only changes at a client request. The meeting is to ‘understand the process’ and they’re coming armed with notification emails that they think tell me that I’m supposed to be doing this. Well, they’re 100% incorrect and I’m going to let them come in all cocky, thinking they’ve got me, then drop the bomb on them when I share my screen.
We've got a VP who, when the weather is decent, always sends emails from his iPhone because he's at the golf course or the 19th hole bar. Dude knocks down $500k/yr. It’s the dream life
It’s not going to be dramatic. I’m just pissed that they called a big meeting to try and call it out instead of just asking about it.
I'm being serious, it doesn't happen often but wasting my time like that instead of trying talk to me online or over the phone right then and there is incredibly frustrating. I'd rub their noses in it a little bit.
Bet he makes sure he's away from the trees when he makes phone calls. Gotta make sure they can't hear the birds chirping.
At this point I don't think he gives a shit. He has an awesome team that does a great job so his boss is happy. It's good work if you can get it
It was fine. I explained it all and they basically did the thing where they’re all old and don’t understand or like change. Well, I guess if you say so, we can try putting it in salesforce, but I bet it won’t really work. Spoiler alert: it will. These are people who keep records on paper on their desks or in emails or spreadsheets and get upset when I don’t magically have the info. Whatever.
Big yikes. I’m in a zoom diversity seminar. The company is probably 95% white. They asked for examples of microagressions. This white lady serious as can be shares how she is known as neat and likes to clean and it’s hurtful when people assume she will help them clean or that she’s excluded because she’ll judge their messy house or car. Christ.
I’m in a tshirt all the time and shorts but like yesterday logged onto a zoom with Mayo and they wanted video. Customer polo engage.
Let me call you after my 11AM checks their calendar, 11-3. Let me call you around 3 would have worked.
Looks like someone doesn't appreciate the power move of making you wait around from 11-3 for them to call.
I just learned what gaslighting actually means after googling “is my boss fucking with me”. I’ve heard it before but always dismissed it as snowflakeish sjw type chatter. Being able to assign a label to what I’ve been trying to explain, rationalize, endure, and process mentally for the last 2.5 years is a huge relief. I’m probably going to accept an offer next week once the terms are squared away. Feels like I’ve been operating in the twilight zone. Abusive bosses attempting to mask their insecurities because they feel threatened are some of the weakest people walking this earth.
It's not a new concept by any means, literally 80+ years old. Cheers on getting out of a toxic situation.
