This kills me every time. It’s like he’s more offended by people thinking he went to a Disco Biscuits show than shitting on the floor.
Seems like the kind of guy who always wears khaki shorts and Sperry's and swear its not that cold outside
He was brought up in that thread, that's why this got bumped. BTW this thread is like the 4th result when you google him, which means he's definitely read it.
It's pretty wild how many people have connections to this guy. I'd listen to an S-Town style podcast about him, but he doesn't deserve the attention.
I saw an interview where he was talking about rehab and he said: My therapist told me, “Eric, you’re not an alcoholic and you’re not bipolar. You’re just a spoiled brat who’s never been told no.” Yeah, okay, pal
Man if I had a dollar for all the people who told me I was not an alcoholic and not bipolar. Generally the type of thing you say to someone who is not alcoholic and not bipolar.
I am friends with a guy who is a pathological liar. It makes me really sad because you can tell hes coming from a place of a lot of hurt and insecurity to go to the lengths that he does to convince people things are going well in his life. Whats crazy is it takes a decent level of intelligence to come up with the stories he tells people, and if he would just apply that energy towards a job or a relationship or whatever he'd be fine, he's a nice guy.
Need to get these two bros in the room together to talk about all the chompers showing up to phish shows these days
I fucking love this guy. My favorite was sometime during bakers dozen when he pulled out the white board and he "gotta keep going back to this Disease right here"
I had a similar friend in high school. His life was fine he just lied about stupid shit all the time for no reason. Told us when he graduated from high school his Dad told him he would buy him any car he wanted so he was getting a new Porsche 911 Carrera. We asked his Dad who just starting laughing and of course denied that conversation ever taking place. He would lie about a girlfriend that went to another school and would skip tennis practice because "her dad asked him to mow their lawn" when he was just sitting at home but wanted us to think he really had a girlfriend. It was just really weird after awhile.
This guy lies to people that he knows are smart enough to know he's lying, many times the lie is about something that person is involved in or would know about and hes trying to make some sort of connective conversation. He knows they dont believe him as he says it, absolutely bizarre. The most ridiculous one I can remember was how he was working late hours because he was on a bio research team alongside the vet school at Texas Tech, where they were using stem cells from sheep to cure rare forms of cancer. He said this in front of a guy whose father is a veterinarian. And we already knew he wasnt even enrolled at Texas tech at the time.
More or less. People there to for the party/drug scene over the music. Know a few of the songs but not "real" fans. Likely to be fucked up yelling out requests or telling the people next to them what a great song this is instead of listening to the song.
Fuck those guys. A group talked over most of a Sturgill show at the Ryman. Go to the bar or lobby to chit chat.
Yeah. The worst. It's one thing if it's some cover band playing in the corner of a bar. It's another if you paid to see a band and someone is yelling over the music the whole time right behind you. Had to tell more than a few people to shut up.
Trey is the greatest guitarist, no all time musician ever. Oh you don't agree? Well everything about you sucks.
What's crazy, is that if he were just honest, he'd be at lease on some level of wealthy and popular. He has unbelievable people skills. Cancel out the stealing and taking advantage of people and hed be an excellent politician. Already go the stealing part down.
I went to a Phish show in Knoxville back in 2009 and had an absolute blast. I’ll never forget the two losers behind us that scoffed at us for enjoying a show they deemed “subpar”. It was hilarious.
This reminds of a guy I was friends with in college. He was 'wealthy' Mr fake it till you make it in a sense. The thing about it, was that he grew up on a local golf course, but apparently wanted to run with the crowd on the 'exclusive' golf courses in the state. Drove a new Benz with the bare minimum. I'm talking roll up windows. Expensive clothes that he got used on ebay. Cool guy, but as everyone picked up on how he was basically living a fake life, we all drifted out separate ways. Last I heard, we were all invited to his book signing. Great, right? That's cool. He got his life together. We rsvp.... And get a text asking if we're going to pay the $50 fee for an autograph. The rest is history.
