A third Bad Boys movie is apparently on the way, just as soon as there’s a gap in Will Smith’s busy schedule to film it. However, the director of the first two instalments of the franchise, Michael Bay, won’t be returning for Bad Boys 3. Because Bay will likely be making awful Transformers sequels until the end of time, Sony have started looking elsewhere and Joe Carnahan looks like the most likely candidate to take the reigns of the new Bad Boys film. The Grey, A-Team and Narc director is reportedly in talks to brush up David Guggenheim’s screenplay, and then potentially direct the film. It’s been 12 years since Bad Boys II, and a whopping 20 years since the first movie, and Sony are apparently moving quickly to find the next gap in Will Smith’s schedule so they can reunite him with Martin Lawrence at last!
Having just watched the 2nd one recently on tv. The boat on the bridge during the car chase does have a very michael bay feel to it.

Good to see Will Smith will be doing another money grab third installment in-between making sequels of Hancock and I, Robot. Guy has so much potential and just takes the easy road every single time.

The most recent came in February when the actor told BBC Radio that he’d recently met with his co-star Martin Lawrence to bat around the possibility of popping out another adventure for Lowery and Burnett. Apparently, all it took was a hug for them to agree on Bad Boys 3. Sony Pictures felt even more confident, pencilling in release dates for a third and fourth installment in the franchise on February 17, 2017 and July 3, 2019 respectively. Sorry to break it to you folks, but it now looks as if we’re not getting Any Bad Boys movies for a while. A Tweet from Exhibitor Relations states that the third film is now slated for a January 12, 2018 release date. This isn’t exactly great news as the beginning of the year is typically where studio dreck goes to die.
Bad Boys II was so horrible I'm glad Michael Bay isn't attached to this. If they can somehow build off the character development from the original Bad Boys then I'm down to see the third installment.
Three of us were driving to see a Bad Boys 2 in theatres and one of my dumb friends was being dumb in his dumb car and started a 4 car accident. I still went to the movie B-)
