They're only a Russell Wilson-caliber QB away from competing for a conference 'ship. Need the new coach to come in and hit the transfer portal,
Take it from Colorado...you do not hire from within the family. Ryan Walters looks like a dynamite DC with major future HC potential... As a Colorado fan...I want nothing to do with him.
I'd very much like him to stay longer. I think he's either taking a better DC job or a HC job after this season, though Not sure how he'll do as a HC, but the turd polishing he's done at Illinois is incredible.
Lol at the bolded. It never ceases to amaze me how people legitimately think all Nebraska had to do was not fire Pelini and everything would’ve been fine. Grow up Peter Pan.
actually wished they'd kept Chryst also wish Leonhard had taken the Packers DC job a couple years ago
Coaches with ties to the school/state: Leipold - He’s a Wisconsin native who played at Wisconsin-Whitewater and later led the program to six Division III national championships. Doeren - Wisconsin assistant from 2006 to 2010 At least make Aranda say no... Maybe Big 10 having a place at the table is enough to pull him from Baylor - but he'll have a long list of suitors Guy that has been in the same room as Sean McVay: Thomas Brown was Wisconsin’s running backs coach in 2014 as Melvin Gordon rushed for a Big Ten-record 2,587 yards and was a Heisman finalist. Brown, known as a strong recruiter, was Miami’s offensive coordinator from 2016 to 2018. He’s spent the past three seasons with the Rams, earning a Super Bowl ring last year as the running backs coach.
Jim Leonhard Lance Leipold Dave Aranda Sean Lewis Matt Campbell Darrell Bevell Jake Dickert Dave Doeren Bret Bielema Dave Clawson Mel Tucker Nick Saban Probably in that order
I like Aranda, but if I'm Wisconsin and I like Jim Leonhard as much as it sounds like they do, not sure I see the point in paying Aranda at least twice (probably more) what it's going to cost me to give Leonhard the job.
Perhaps also worth noting that Leipold coached at Wisconsin as Grad Assistant under Barry Alvarez, so he also keeps that coaching line intact.
Aranda/Leonard, Leipold/Doering make sense in that order imo I feel like Leonard can’t actually win himself the job without Aranda first turning it down but he can def lose it Sean Lewis is a B1G quality coach someday but his offense is an awful fit for the badgers

Put the link in archive.is I read it earlier, but Chryst didn't adapt to recruiting with NIL and had almost no recruiting department. Missed on some key recruits in state
Shithead coaches like Chryst failing to adapt to a changing landscape are a dime a dozen at the highest levels
