How do those airports compare around the world? Would any make a world top 10 list?
Have been through 3 of the top 6 in the past year. Surprised Orlando is that high
Nice humble brag on the travel
Orlando at 3? It’s a nice airport with a lot of direct flights, but the hub and spoke design fucks the whole thing up in the worst way.
I’ve been in 18 of the 20 listed (no seattle, no Newark). Some are ok, but Phoenix, lax, jfk, LaGuardia, and O’Hare all stink.
Orlando is an avoid at all costs airport for me. Dealing with Disney families makes it unbearable. I almost exclusively fly out of Tampa, much better airport experience.
Wtf is so great about charlotte? Didn't think that airport was that awesome.
Minneapolis-St.Paul homer here
List reeks of shenanigans
The word ‘clusterfuck’ would be insulted to be associated with OIA
Let's talk worst.
Newark and KC gotta be up there
Rick Husband International
I don't think Orlando is that great at this moment. Security moves pretty well but has shit for food. New terminal and transportation hub opening up will be amazing but until everything is running its not a top 10 airport.
I took my youngest to Disney World (it was miserable)
Went through Dallas to/from Puerto Vallarta. That was tight.
Went to Vegas with the wife and lost our ass, but had lots of sex
2/3 ain't bad, but now I'm poor. Send money plz
Fuck running all the way across the Charlotte airport if your connection is in another terminal.
LAX on that list is comical.
Must be only major airports because both Tampa and Orange County are top 5.
I must have been in a real crappy part of the airport because my layover in Phoenix was awful. LAX above Logan also seems pretty bad.
ATL not great IMO
Atl and Charlotte both stink
But they have rocking chairs, man.
I think this thread is just confirming that U.S. airports are horrendous.
Kc is building a new airport and while old one isnt that pretty or very big I've always been able to get in/out pretty quick which is all i care about since i live here.
LAX is awful, and jfk isn’t great either. Seattle is really nice though
Does not compute.
Minneapolis was actually nicer than expected. Detroit wasnt as bad as would have guessed. Tram was nice.
Phew!! Almost lost TMB cool-guy points without this.
Orlando's isn't anything spectacular.
Had a layover in Charlotte in April when I flew up for a Penguins game. Big fan of Bojangles and all of the craft brew bars. It also seemed a lot cleaner than Orlando's, but the terminals seemed more spread out.
Translation: Wife drank a lot and passed out every night
Finally got to use my Priority Pass membership that came with my CC in PHX. It was good, but it would’ve been a LOT cooler if I was drinking. Couldn’t really abuse the bar at 7:00am.
Havent been to PHX in a little but think it was getting redone. Maybe after renovations it will deserve that ranking.
Didn't look at the list and may not be big enough but New Orleans is the biggest shit hole airport. Was happy to hear they've got a brand new one opening next year.
Denver International still creeps me out from the times I had layovers there as a kid. My favorite would have to be Sea-Tac by a mile. The food is actually pretty good and the people are super nice from my experience.
By far the three worse American airports I've been to are Miami, Charlotte & Memphis.
The United terminal at PHX blows. The other ones are good.
I think for the size and the traffic. ATL runs pretty smoothly. I've heard arguments from both sides on it's pros and cons.
I fly into PHX quite a bit to see family. To be fair my definition of a good airport is one that gets you through quickly and is relatively clean. Phx is clean and there’s rarely a line so I like it, but if you’re looking for something to do in between flights good luck there.
We had been before, it was hot and miserable, and things just didn't go smoothly.
Little guy had fun and that's all that matters. Wasn't trying to be a badass
I really like Miami, but that's probably more so because I am leaving the country and in a good mood as a result. Dulles is far and away the worst airport I've been to. I fucking hate that shit hole.
It was our anniversary, so I got my years worth all in one weekend.
Been to many airports and they're all about the same to me
It turns out that the best US airports were the friends we made along the way
Been through 4 of the top 6 in the last year.
As someone who's never connected through Charlotte but used to fly in/out every week for work, why the hate? Other than getting into it with a mouthy TSA agent, I've always had really good experiences getting through security quickly with almost no flight delays/cancellations.
Well, you still are a badass to me.
The drop off was horrendous, even at 5am
The minimal construction going on made it almost unnavigable
Been through 11 of the top 10.
MSP is so fucking spread out there had to be a more efficient way to build that place
I didn’t have a problem with miami when I was leaving the country either. It’s the coming back that is always the issue. I understand that customs is a pain in the ass. But they really need a more efficient system for international travelers.
I also realize that I’m basically screaming at the sky with that last request.
Nailed #1. Denver is great
I really like Charlotte. Decent sushi at that one spot in the center, Noda beers on tap. Oh well. The renovation of Indianapolis is nice. Fingers crossed that the renovation of O'Hare will go well and the hyperloop to block 39 will work out, but probably not because Chicago. I like Tampa, san diego seemed alright. It's a shame our largest cities can't have great airports like Singapore or something
TPA is easy but MCO is easy and has more flights. I often drive past tpa to get to MCO.
6 of top 10 for me
