BellottiBold this idiot has proven over and over just how fucking stupid and shitty his opinions are so some self reflection might be in serious order
Man I appreciate nearly every aspect of this show, especially when I compare it to most others. the effort that goes into camera placement alone is just awesome
Seems like some prime real estate for that to be the only payoff of that open. I feel like they’ll go back to it once more, even if it’s just for a second. Like the DEA in a flash forward is clearing the hideout. Or some hikers. Someone unknowingly crushes the glass with their boot as they pick one flower in the hellscape.
I was wondering about that when they were clearing his house. The sign was obviously taken down at some point from his office location. I’ve always kind of thought the witness protection/Hoover angle for Kim was likely. After that meeting I think maybe she rolls on the cartel. I don’t think she’s in Omaha, or gene wouldn’t have shut a shit existence. Plus I don’t think they’d extract two people to the same location or let him choose. BB office was just Saul Goodman Attorney at Law
Isn't it funny how we examine every small detail and make guesses at what the show will bring? That's what makes it fun!
I guess I just assumed Gustavo Fring had a big puffed out chest lol. Never considered that he's always wearing a bulletproof vest. Could also be a detail that smarter people than me have noticed before
I kind of wanted Jimmy to get caught by Howard tbh. It’s not as fun when they get away with it 100% of the time.
Yeah it was obviously a filler episode but I still really liked it. Loved the scene with Mike and Kim. It does kinda suck going two episodes without Lalo though. Also I'm embarrassed to say that I had forgotten who Spooge was until I opened this thread. It somehow didn't even register while watching.
I watched the first BB episode with Saul recently to try and build my conspiracy theories and Walt or Jesse is like I hear this Highsenberg crushes people’s heads and Saul said it was a former client of his. I went back to that part, and that is the only reason I had the dots connected right now.
How was that a filler episode? sorry but filler episodes are what 24 episode season network tv shows have because they have that many episodes ordered. They are moving along the plot on Howard and establishing/building the threat of Lalo. They didnt make this 13 episodes to have filler episodes. they made 13 episodes because thats exactly how many eps they need to tell the story the right way.
I get that this episode didnt offer what episode 3 did. but it was masterful in what it set out to do. calling it filler and mediocre is absolutly wild to me. I thought it was amazing and sets the tone for the rest of the season. until Lalo shows up everyone has their head on a swivel like Kim in the last scene. and keeping him out of a few episodes builds tension for the characters and the viewers.
Not to mention how important it is to show the fallout with Jimmy and his peers. He’s the funny guy who is always liked. now he’s an outcast and he has to decide if he wants to make a lot of money or be a well liked lovable loser. a step in embracing Saul. something a lot of people should be able to relate to.
The camerawork when Saul was moving Howard’s car and then got out of the car to move the cone was just amazing.
Filler episode, buildup episode, whatever. I didn’t mean it in a negative way at all. It was a great episode.
Its just that filler episode implies nothing happened. A lot happened imo but compared to episode 3 in a much slower pace. but theres been a lot of slow episodes in this show and none of them are filler episodes. They always progress the plot in many ways, they just take their time and it makes the payoff so much more rewarding. I’m not attacking anyone who called it a filler episode and you said you still liked it, but i must admit i was kinda sad to see the word used since i think it couldnt be more wrong for the reasons stated in previous posts. It was def a setup episode, but in the coolest of ways. Removing Lalo and seeing how it makes the other characters piss their pants makes it so much more impactful. Had we known where he was and what he was planning it would be a lot harder to feel the way the characters are scared. And i bet it will be so much more awesome to see what happens when it happens. I cant think of another show where they build up the bad guy strictly on other peoples fears. its pretty fucking cool.
Its probably been mentioned here already, but Rhea Seehorn directed this episode. she did a lot of cool shit imo. the way the court scenes were filmed was interesting. felt like a completely different place.
Tex used it before you so maybe it just came to mind. I could also word things better many times, so i get it. I just wanted to point out all the stuff that i saw in this slow episode that actually made it jam packed with important things. Because i think its miles from a mediocre episode i thought it was insanely good and interesting.
That’s what I was thinking. Couldn’t remember if there was a tombstone/marker in any of the BB scenes there.
"Soaring" is an odd term to use and it made me think there was a Breaking Bad episode called "Soaring Over All" but it was actually "Gliding Over All" and it was the mid-season finale of season 5 that ended with Hank on the toilet. I think this is most likely a hint that Kim will reach out to the Toilet Buddy guy, get that patented, and make millions. That's my theory as to why she isn't in Breaking Bad.
Rough translation is “with love, your boys.” So my guess is Lalo will use the manufacturer’s label on the bottom to track down Ziegler’s workers.
I’m very happy he used his insane gymnast skills instead of his insane psychotic killer skills in this episode. Its been a weird week, but I probably would’ve cried had he offed Ziegler’s widow
I'm not done with the episode yet but I'm happy Howard immediately figured out what was going on and I'm rooting for him here. He's a cheeseball but he doesn't deserve what they're doing to him
