Max Cleland was literally the first senator outside of Tennessee I became aware of. RIP to this tough old bastard.
After such open attacks on democracy it is beyond the pale for Democrats not to actually make meaningful structural changes to secure it. I’m not going to say I’ve become apathetic but very disheartened.
Just open corruption and a straight-up attack on the American people by corporations and billionaires... AND YET PEOPLE STILL THINK CAPITALISM IS GOOD.
Corruption can happen under any system. The infuriating thing is just that we've legalized it in ours
The more I think of all this the madder I get. Progressives just did a bunch of shit in good faith that they will one million percent get screwed on, yet the media will focus on the six that voted against it because they absolutely know how this will play out. Meanwhile, Centrist Dems will run with this watered down bill as their victory and proof they can get bipartisan stuff done simply to not pass BBB.
Saw this next to a headline that Bentley is seeing record sales. The game is rigged against normal people.
think something will pass in some form bc Sinema surprisingly wants the immigration stuff to pass which makes sense if she is trying to rehab her perception in Arizona
Saw this in an article today and have to say being in the moneyed class looks fun. "Venture capital investors are racing to pay more to buy smaller pieces of startups that are less profitable than before."
This isnt even worth arguing because the ship has sailed, but technically - transitory inflation is anything that's less than a year. These are all due to extenuating circumstances that will normalize. This inflation is very much transitory. This isnt a structural inflation where things are going to rise in perpetuity. But we've all just punted on real definitions of things because like everything else, we let the GOP frame the discussion using terms that dont apply but sounds scary.
Any progressive that went along with separating the bills can 100% get fucked. This was obviously going to happen. This is so disgusting man I’m tired of this shit. I need to get out of here
Rittenhouse is testifying. He's going to walk. Why on earth did a police dept issue a 17 yr old a bullet proof vest? I mean what the fuck. The most blame in this case lies with the open carry laws. He literally went to protests with a fucking rifle and that's perfectly legal. That's insane. Of course that's going to strike fear in people and cause a confrontation. I think he caused it by going there with a gun yet that's perfectly legal so then blame gets all fucked up.
This Rittenhouse shit is infuriating to me. I don't care if it's legal. If you roll out with a rifle to a protest, you're looking for a confrontation. You can't claim self defense when your actions caused the confrontation. It's Zimmerman all over again. Sorry, idk where else to vent about this.
***It's only legal to carry a rifle in the streets (and use it on your adversaries) if you're right wing and/or advocate for white supremacy.
Any grounds for appeal for the upcoming acquittal? Have not paid attention since I knew following it would cause some rage issues
yea he'll definitely walk so no need to get worked up about it, but LMAO at that display of 'emotion' I just saw on twitter.
I haven’t been watching this, but was the prosecutor trying to introduce testimony on a subject the judge had already said was inadmissible? If so, that was pretty tame.
I’m for this. I’m also laughing thinking about all the people with new cars calling in sick because their car won’t start.
