I was extremely turned off by a large alliance based solely on race last season. Can’t remember the last season I watched from start to finish. I’ll try this year, again.
That’s a dumb reason to be turned off. Alliances of white guys have run this show most years. Not much diversity in The Brigade.
I don’t think race was brought up or even thought about at all with any of them. The only reason last years cast got together was because of their race.
Yes, I’m sure alliances of all white people in the history of the show came together just by coincidence and there wasn’t a racial pull, even if involuntary. Come on, dude. The fact that people think the all-white alliances are natural and organic and completely above racial dissection while the one Black alliance is chided as disruptive and some type of affront to the game is the reason why the Cookout did what it did. It highlighted a double standard in the game, one which prevented a Black person for winning for 22 seasons. That alliance was what made the show watchable to me. The Cookout was the Brigade — just a different shade and with women involved. They had a goal, they achieved it and did it on a show that has seen a lot of racism toward Blacks. Kind of disappointing that you’re bothered by that aspect of it.
Alliances in general are lame. It's brutal going through 6 weeks of stuff that is completely predictable. At least the last one was executed well enough for it to be hidden from the masses and there were alternate strategies that were being simultaneously played. Actually it was maybe the best alliance that I can remember since derek and cody?
Yeah. Derek and Cody were really great but the thing about the cookout was it was so big and they played it so well even those that got evicted didn’t have a clue. The fact that they hid it so well and despite its size stayed so secret makes it quite possibly the best in my eyes.
Big Brother in general has become one big neutral zone trap. I’d love to have a Dr. Will or Dan type just flipping shit and putting the house on edge. I agree alliances suck the life out of the game most of the time — I just took umbrage with that alliance being panned due to its racial similarity, though there was quite a bit of diversity in it with men, women, at least one gay person (think Kyland might be at least bi) and multiple biracial people within it.
Yeah, maybe I'm with you on that since they had to also cover for their fake alliances. That was a really tight needle to thread. I think cody/derek was the first one I watched and they were great, but last year's was pretty impressive
She kind of sucks and I don’t like her thus far. Ameerah and Taylor are on the bonk list. Nobody jumps out as people I like in the game yet. Maybe Nicole. I was liking Daniel until moms.
I'm interested to see how Wednesday's edit is. Because when Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook all agree on how Taylor is being treated you know the house fucked up.
IMO the cast kinda sucks in general but Brittany, Michael, Nicole, and Joseph have been the least offensive.
Paloma got one hell of an edit. If you didn’t pay attention to the feeds this was a strange episode. I hate Paloma.
Spoiler: Feeds Spoiler Sounds like she's gone via production. Guessing because she's been completely manic. It got to be pretty concerning
It sounds like she just comes off as a bitch that all the people in the house doesn’t like. I don’t see any racism.
It spiraled with bad information and a game a telephone. I think it's somewhere in between your thoughts and the anti-bullying crowd.
micro/macro aggressions, saying that they could tell she was bad news by looking at her, she will blow up when she's nominated, saying they could all just hide in the HoH room after she get nommed because she would be so angry, etc. There are also receipts on twitter as well along with plenty of videos on youtube.
Outside of that, Taylor summarizing the Paloma/Girls conversation to Monte and then Monte mischaracterizing (unintentionally) what Taylor said about the conversation back to Paloma, started a whole domino affect of "she's lying, can't trust her" yada yada yada.
You also thought the Cookout was racist while seeing nothing wrong with white male alliances in the past, so not sure you’re the most reliable judge.
I don’t think it was racist. I thought it would be weird if a all white alliance got together only because of their race and said out loud that they wanted to play together so a white person would win. But whatever. It’s over now. That Taylor girl seems like she just rubs people the wrong way. Nothing to do with her race. I thought her interviews before entering the house was a hint she wouldn’t last long. With that said she isn’t anywhere near the worst on the show or even worse girl.
