Karl Scott and Corey Raymond on the same staff is a cheat code. Really hope we dump Valai before he costs us anymore 5 star corners.
Yea he certainly doesn't look the part but he's probably the best tight ends recruiter in country. All he does is land top rated guys.
That’s the kind of statement you release when you push a guy out but don’t want to hurt future employment. Tucker knows how to play the game.
Or when it gets scooped a week before your bowl game that he’s taking a raise to go to a better program for a lower position.
just never heard much about him at all at MSU good or bad so was genuinely intrigued by this hire for you guys
to get back into this convo, my former HS coach has won 3 out of the last 4 state titles in sofla and is rumored to be in the running for the Colquitt County job up there, no idea what they would pay but it’s probably a lot more than he’s making and the cost of living is significantly lower in Moultrie, GA
They pay tons. They tried to hire a friend of mine for another head coaxing job. The money was outrageous.
I know of a coach that was offered Valdosta job and he went to one of his coordinators and asked “How much would it take for you to go?” He replied 100k, head coach said “done.” He ended up not taking it due to Valdosta wanting their head coach to almost be like the Mayor.
How the finances work there, I am not sure. Anderson School district in SC brought in a Super from GA. They instituted a penny tax, that goes to every school elementary to high and is given to all areas of schools. In most areas of SC, coaches are given supplements and days added to their contracts on top of base salary that is set. Anderson went with what I assume is the GA model with penny tax. The head coach is given a sum of 140k to give out how he sees fit to coordinators/assistants. If a coordinator is making a base salary of 60k he could pull out 40k of that lump sum to increase it to 100k and use the rest for his assistants.
Isn’t there a big booster organization at schools like that that are involved with the $$$? The ones rush asked for the funny money from?
If the next Colquitt HC wants it he will get 140-150 base, 15k if they make the semis, 20 if they play for it and 30 if they win it
Like Jack Parkman said, booster clubs supplement the salaries, so I’m sure the vehicles wouldn’t be a problem. I know Rick Darlington got one at Valdosta and that was a million years ago.
Talking to my people in Palm Beach. Its a common occurence for coaches to leave SoFlo to go to Georgia or Texas. Salary at public school is like 10k for a coach
Also Davi Belfort transfering from Cardinal Newman to Dillard. There goes all my sources for that kid. There was so much hype for Newman for years to come if he had stayed
My people are super confused. I know he lived down there. I can't remember where but I think Coral Springs area. They're all saying something is very fishy. The rumor around the area is the QB from Pahokee was going to go to Dillard. Then this came out of nowhere
dillard though is loading up on coaches and young talent they were a powerhouse for so long but schools like STA have been cherry-picking all of their talented kids for about 10-15 years now, starting to keep that talent
True. But Cardinal Newman was starting to get some studs coming there. Having Jack Daniels as the coach now. They did get the shit kicked out of them by Chaminade in the playoffs.
