feel like i'm in a bit of a rut with my current restaurant and bar rotation. anybody been any place new (or relatively new) that they recommend?
Things I’ve enjoyed lately: Helen Cayo Coco Snapper Grabber’s Ampersandwich The Essential Cajun Roux Bar 31 Red Lion The Ridge Real & Rosemary FoodBar Fig Tree Lou’s Automatic Dave’s The Garage Some new, some not so new, some old.
Entrees anywhere from $15-50 I believe. I had a fried chicken sandwich that is great. Collard melt also exceptional.
https://bhamnow.com/2021/06/02/insi...m-and-its-new-seat-installation-video-photos/ I really dig the stadium light homage to Legion field. Stadium looks great, glad this thing is coming together and excited for the future events, especially the NCAA regionals at BJCC in 2023 & 2025. Also grateful for the timelines working out the way they have with the pandemic and what not. I'd imagine the first year is the most critical in getting this thing off the ground and it could've taken a bath of epic proportions, but I really have no idea how all that works with insurance and what not. Regardless, this thing is looking good. Curious how this might play into/bolster our MLS expansion odds down the road.
I was at the Red Lion once when some dude went into the bathroom and spread his shit on the walls. I have not been back.
Can you smoke indoors at the Red Lion? I've never been, always had it on the list of local establishments to visit, but I feel like I may passed the life station of exploring new dives.
if you’re looking for a light lunch or breakfast spot, General in Forrest Park started serving recently. We walked up and sat outside for a late lunch today and it was delightful. It’s a little steep but the product backed it up so I didn’t mind so much. I had - chicken salad sandwich (shredded meat with great ratio of very light Mayo, sliced red grapes and walnuts) and - salad (spinach blueberries pecans goat cheese with house vinaigrette dressing) - possibly the best Arnold Palmer of my life; chilled pint glass with slush ice, hand squeezed lemonade and unsweet tea. It was a treat. I also tried the Mrs. pimento cheese sandwich and roasted tomato soup and everything was great. The breakfast casserole and spinach quiche they had in the display from the morning looked dank as well. 100% will be returning.
wait where in forest park is this? Have not been following that area closely of late other than an occasional Rougaroux visit
Next to Shoppe in the old Silvertron. General has an espresso bar and gift shop inside. Also, Red or White across the street in the old V Richards is rolling out a pizza kitchen and hors d'oeuvres menu soon. (May have already Im not sure.)
and have. Medical marijuana and permanent daylight savings...hell, she might be the best Governor we’ve ever had. Certainly since I’ve been able to vote. I’ll take it.
She also didn't handle the Covid situation like a moron. Not a fan or anything, but she clears the low bar of acceptability
She did a lot better than most of the other red state governors…. but when she dropped all the mandates/recommendations with less than 50% of the eligible population vaccinated and did nothing to incentivize more it honestly occurred to me “she’s going to run for re election isn’t she.”
Had the same thought when that happened. Didn’t make any damn sense with her previous actions outside of that angle.
Oh Boy that’s a lot of spaces on the Bingo Card of Alabama political commercials Trump reference Multiple religious values College football Anti abortion Pro 2nd amendment Anti Socialism Joe Biden’s America Strengthen Military All we missed was an Obama/Clinton/AOC reference and her shooting a gun.
Which one? I assumed EBW was running her campaign. Based on who is featured in the commercial, I am fairly certain they're heavily involved.
looking forward the black and white still of AOC and Schumer with little devil horns written on them.
