Josh McCown (Carolina QB coach) pretty much made an entire YouTube video saying that Stroud was the best QB in the draft and better than Young and Richardson in almost every category. Then the Panthers drafted Young.

 

Had stroud over young on my rankings. Was passively happy we lost the first pick bc then we were forced to stroud.

Stroud looks incredible for a rookie. Bryce has a long way to go. He was incredible at Bama but so much of it was improvised and that just doesn't play in the league.

On the bright side Bryce’s was not 100 points worse (it was 48.3)

 

i say this without an ounce of irony or trolling: the panthers trading the farm (including what will likely be the #1 overall pick in 2024) to take him over stroud will end up being one of the biggest draft blunders in NFL history. happy to stake this claim on page 1. all time fuck up

 

And it would all be based on how dinners went and not on the game film or advice of the coaching staff.

Bryce seems like a good guy. and he was great in college. Just don't think it is going to work out for him. lack of size and arm strength will do him in. Also, he gets moved off his spot very easily because he is too small to stand up and throw against pressure.

Poles' only significant W is the Panthers trade and that seemed more like Carolina being desperate/ownership pressure got the deal done.
