Being an elite college corner and receiver in the quarter century since Champ Bailey's days in Athens has got to be more taxing physically and mentally nowadays. Champ going 1-5 against Tennessee and Florida who were the innovators of the passing game at the time don't impress me much.
I’m not gonna pretend like I’m some sort of corner scouting expert but he looked a lot better than I would have predicted in his first game. Certainly you will concede that a cornerback being the marquee player in his first top tier college football game (maybe the only time that’s ever happened) and playing as well as he did shows that he’s got the mental tools to be a great cornerback.
There’s no chance in hell he can play that many snaps every game and stay healthy. He’s a better WR than DB. Keon Coleman is better though
I agree with the too many snaps. Football is so dangerous that playing on both sides of the ball shouldn't be allowed once someone has reached the age they start playing tackle football. Being a WR and CB is probably the least dangerous combination a two way player can play as far as limiting head injuries but Hunter's joints and ligaments cannot possibly survive Saturday's workload for two more years and remain unscathed. I can't wait for the conferences and TV networks to claim that the egregious number of commercial breaks is for the safety of the players.
247 says he’s the best corner prospect ever and just as good at WR, no big deal Not sure I agree with your take, looked like a better Chris Gamble who was incredibly good but nowhere near the 247 hyperbole
he's not an elite college corner can't tackle and gets pushed around by bigger WRs he'll getcha some sweet picks but also give up a TD or 2
Wonder if People remember Champ other then his Broncos days . Fuck uga with every inch in my bone marrow mane still
He ended up stealing the show but I would imagine the average viewer would have thought he would be more like Cody Hawkins 2.0 rather 2023's version of Hendon Hooker. The 5 star going to a HBCU story made Hunter a pretty big deal.
Could see Nebraska beating them certainly though Nebraska don’t like winning. Limit big plays then wear out their weak defense
Shilo Sanders couldn't even get playing time on my teams most embarrassing defense I can remember so my assumption of Deion offspring was rather low. He was Academic Freshman All SEC though. He clearly takes academics seriously being on his third college in three years.
Gloating about the success that tapping up players to entice them to enter the portal and transfer to FSU while being bitter about a guy choosing to play for their most iconic former player at some other school and was never part of the FSU program is what the kids would call "cringe".
You realize Saul literally said Hunter could win the Biletnikoff award a few posts above yours and is the only poster here who actually watches HBCU football right?
It felt like half my time at the fsu-lsu game was spent complaining about how often we had to see the commercial break guy on the field.
Taint infections and poop? Nah, I’m doing something much more dignifying. I’m tackling a guy dressed as a hotdog, to help sell taco things.
