Ochocinco to play football? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6224036 ESPN reports that Chad Ochocinco (still fucking hurts to type that name out) has a four day tryout with Sporting Kansas City. Thoughts?
What was the thought process here? Doop doop doop I don't see any posts on this yet... *skims first 2 thread titles* Can't believe no one has posted this yet! I'm awesome for posting this first. Now to create an official Serie A thread.
I would love for KC to sign him and just bring him off the bench for like 5 minutes at the end of some games
Winger. He expressed his desire to play up top and by all indications, his crosses are god awful. One of the soccernet editors that watched his first 2 days said he had good, accurate passing that looked a little hesitant, fast pace, but very little crossing ability. Apparently he didn't hit a single target. His shots were powerful, but inaccurate, as he kept blasting them over the goal.
This is about what I expected. All speed and power, but no real technical ability. KC should keep him just to stay in the news and draw in fans though because really it makes more sense to keep 85 on the roster then whomever the last guy on the pine as that guy likely isn't that great (if the level of play at the Red Bulls - Crew) game is any indications and is a guy that only his mother even knows plays in the MLS.
tri, KC is gonna get fans regardless of 85, due to the new stadium. But I do feel they should keep him
Not sure KC could do a worse job of capitalizing on this trial. ... and the audio came back as I sent that.
Lot of haters in the twitter chat. Don't get it. He hasn't looked great, but in my opinion, he hasn't looked any worse than any of the other reserve/trialist players.
ochocinco This is so awesome I'm an honorary member of #SportingKC and can train with the reserve team as long as I want. Totally awesome #ILuvKC
I don't see a problem with it. It's not like there is a labor agreement with the NFL and the NFLPA at this point
I don't have a problem with it. It is cool, but it is definitely a publicity stunt at least at this point.
