White talks top 7 Alabama: “Coach Murphy has made it very hard to leave them out, with the constant love he shows on and off the court as well just being able to talk about more than just ball matters for me.” Arkansas: “The full staff since day 1 has been extremely high on me and my game. They have proven that’s guys like me will thrive at Arkansas.” Georgetown: “The connection me and Cooley have outside of basketball is second to none. Extremely genuine guy.” LSU: “Coach Long and Coach Mac at LSU started recruiting me early. They’ve came out and watched me and we’ve had some good conversations on how I would fit in their system. It’s one of the styles of play that really interests me.” Syracuse: “Coach Red, coach B, and coach Mac are another one of those staffs that connected with me off the court. With coach Red leading charge in his first season, I’ve how much he wants his guys to get to the next level.” Tennessee: “Coach Gainey has made it a point to prioritize me in Tennessee’s recruiting. He’s been at multiple games and really makes the effort to stay in contact with me. Coach Barnes coaches his guys hard which is something I don’t shy away from which I like.” Texas: “I’ve always been a Texas fan growing up. I love how they produce guys every year and how they utilize the versatile players. Me and coach Terry have had some good talks and their Director of Recruiting coach Ty has been really on my game and me since last year.”
The Athletic’s model has it 86-84 UNC fwiw. I’m not a huge fan of Austin Mock due to how guarded he is regarding the model, but pretty much everything I’m seeing has this game at full on pucker factor level.
The model has UNC winning 61% of the time in the 1m simulations, however the margin of victory is skewed heavily in Bama’s favor when we win, basically saying we’re going to lose close or run them out of the gym
The nuggets are not meant to touch on every recruit involved with Alabama. It's just the ones we have the most recent news one. If a player isn't mentioned it does not mean bad news. Simply means we don't' have anything new for this set of nuggets*** -Most of the talk around the QB position is Julian Lewis - Carrollton - Quarterback (on3.com) and rightly so with Bama sitting high on his list of favorites. But the signal caller evaluations are on-going and new prospects/ targets are starting to emerge. Matt Zollers - Spring-Ford - Quarterback (on3.com) and Keelon Russell - Duncanville - Quarterback (on3.com) are two expected to visit Alabama in April. Russell (still working on date) is committed to SMU and he's been a fast riser up the rankings. Zollers (visiting 4/1) is a top 50 signal-caller with plenty of offers. Neither has anything to do with Lewis for the record. Bama continues to battle for the USC commitment and plenty of people at the Capstone believe they have a shot. But the Bama staff continues to be thorough on the recruiting trail. -Dijon Lee - Mission Viejo - Cornerback (on3.com) is going to be an interesting battle with sources near his recruitment continuing to tell us Alabama is a major player here and perhaps the team to watch. NOT he's a done deal but that UA has done a really good job including on his visit last week where they checked a lot of boxes. There was talk of an early commitment, and that can still happen, but sources near Lee tell us he wants to take those close to him on visits to his favorite schools before announcing. Domani Jackson - Alabama Crimson Tide - Cornerback (on3.com) could be the ace in the hole for Bama here. -The recruitment of Justus Terry - Manchester - Defensive Line (on3.com) was always going to have some twists and turns with a major one happening this week when he flipped to USC. Multiple sources do not expect the ride to end there. UGA, where he was committed, is obviously a big factor, but sources close to his recruitment told us before he flipped (and continue to afterwards) that Bama will be a factor in his final decision. His relationship with the Bama staff is excellent, which has helped. Still a long way to go with this being a marathon not a sprint as much as anyone in the class. -The offensive line recruiting has been slower, like the rest of the offense, than the defensive side of the ball, but the Tide staff continues to make strides with some of their top targets. We've noted the good job done with Jackson Lloyd - Carmel - Offensive Tackle (on3.com), who is expected back of an official and the UA still feels good there. But the big news is how well the visit with David Sanders - Providence Day School - Offensive Tackle (on3.com) went last week. Sanders was on campus two days and sources close to him have said the visit was a homerun. Sanders is going to be able to name his school when all is said and done but the unofficial this week has the Tide on his short list. With him expected back for more visits. Another lineman to watch is Hardy Watts - Dexter School - Interior Offensive Line (on3.com) who is headed to Tuscaloosa in April. UA staff is very high on him as well. One thing that is noticeable is how picky Kalen Deboer and company are about all offensive players. The Crimson Tide has a few OL on campus today: Michael Carroll-Central Bucks East-OL, and Kayden Strayhorn-IMG Academy-OL (on3) -To say Kane Wommack and the defensive staff have set up the linebacker class nicely is an understatement. Also to say they are happy with where they sit now is an understatement as well. Last week they landed 3 of their top targets, but just as important they've had their top guys all visit already this year and currently have more top targets than spots most likely. One to keep a close eye on is Dawson Merritt - Blue Valley - Linebacker (on3.com) who has scheduled an official visit to Alabama on April 19-21. Sources close to him feel Bama is in a strong position currently. There is also a push from the Tide staff after the Kansas native visited this past weekend. Ty Jackson - Seminole Ridge - Linebacker (on3.com) is the one everybody is going to fight over until the end and UA is battling there as well. He visited a few days ago and it went great per sources. But the competition will be strong. -The UA staff is still sorting through options for the 2025 WR class but they are overall pretty happy with the wideout room they inherited. "Lot of young talent" and interestingly one name we have heard that has impressed (via film/meeting a few times) is Rico Scott - Recruiting Profile (on3.com). Many people on the Round Table were big fans including the previous staff. So good to hear his name getting thrown around. Of course Caleb Odom - Alabama Crimson Tide - Tight End (on3.com) is mentioned early and often. The Bama staff has guys they are watching at this position but aren't in any rush to commit. Quality is the main objective. -A few RB targets were in Tuscaloosa last week. The heavy pursuit continues for AK Dear-Quitman, Miss- Running Back (on3). BOL learned that the visit went really well, and Dear seems to have high interest in the program. The relationship with Dear started long before Coach DeBoer arrived. Alabama is in the fight here, and expects to receive an official visit. Jordon Davison-Mater Dei-Running Back (on3) visited this past weekend. This is another recruit who had a great return visit. An official is expected this summer. A big surprise happened when Top 100 RB Girard Pringle-Armwood-Running Back (on3) announced a commitment to Miami. Pringle had a great visit to Alabama last week. He did not have a trip scheduled to Miami as of last Wednesday. He decided to visit on Friday, and committed. Pringle has not confirmed if he will still take the planned summer OV with the Tide. Alabama will continue to pursue regardless. -Alabama has hosted several elite underclassmen during the first few weeks of spring practice. There may not have been a bigger target in town than Faizon Brandon-Grimsley-Quarterback (on3). The No. 1 QB per On3 Sports had a great trip this past weekend. The staff is establishing a great early connection with him. Director of Recruiting, Jatavis Sanders, helped recruit Brandon during his time at N.C. State. There is a great relationship there. Brandon will return in June. He has several other contenders in his recruitment, but Alabama is considered as a top contender. -A lot of recruits will visit the Capstone again this week. One of the biggest targets is currently in town- Josiah Sharma-Folsom-Defensive Lineman (on3). The four-star DL is in Tuscaloosa until Wednesday. Alabama has seen a flurry of recent commitments. Many ask, who’s next? Sharma has not hinted at a decision happening prior to official visits. He is certainly one to watch, however. The former Washington commit visited Alabama earlier this year. He loves Coach DeBoer, and enjoyed the time spent on campus for Junior Day. It will not surprise if Alabama is in the driver’s seat here. We will continue to monitor his future plans (OVs, decision date).
Multiple sources have confirmed Matt Zollers - Spring-Ford - Quarterback (on3.com) will be visiting Alabama on April 1. Good timing with him expected to commit a few days later. So, Bama at least gets to make their pitch. Good job getting him on campus. Talked to a few people this morning and nobody knows where he will end up.

Hmm, so how should we feel about that? I know fuck all about how to read betting odds and how the line is swinging.
Advanced stats for this year's squad. Replacement level is a .100 WS/40, so basically most of our team is better than league average. Pretty eye-opening in terms of how bad Stevenson has been, and how we just really don't have any standout defenders at all (not that we didn't know that already). The stats also seem to really like Wague, which is interesting. Hes definitely been giving us good minutes in the tourney. glossary of terms in the link: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/alabama/men/2024.html#all_advanced_players
