Winning streaks are cool. Hopefully Rizzo busts out of this slump soon. Been making good contact just can’t buy a base hit.
It will be nice to get a break on the schedule. Its been so difficult to this point. Tough series in STL. Could've won all three... ended up losing all three. Hopefully we turn it around vs Miami
It makes sense. You know, they say if something isn't working to try something new. Obviously, AAA isn't working for the guy so maybe the MLB will. It's nice to see a new positive approach.
Hell of a win tonight considering Tseng's rough start. Bullpen was great. Also, shout-out to Starlin for being so incredibly "him" with that lazy throw to home plate that allowed KB to score the winning run. What a gift.
HA HA, i had the same thoughts about Castro, was more worried about chomping on that gum and looking good making a play than actually making the play.
Such a roller coaster season. I know baseball be that way, but we'll go on a win streak and follow it up with 3 losses. And nothing triggers me more than a bunch of fairweather fan ex fratstars pretending they're indians
Joe Simpson is bad, too. Probably worse than Chip, because he's also a "get off my lawn" old school guy.
Nice to have one where all the breaks went our way. Also really good to see Russell hit the ball well.
i know the series has one more left but man the last 3 days have felt like a playoff series. fun stuff
we call that the reverse jinx great series so far. tomorrow night will be fun. great matchup on the mound Lester vs Soroka
I think we had a runner on base almost every inning and did nothing with it. As much as I want to complain about the relievers giving up 3 in the 8th, I'm much more upset at how shitty our hitters have been. We should not be in 1-1 games in the 8th with this lineup.
We got the first batter on in six innings and scored one run. Really need to figure out how to hit with runners in scoring position.
Heard dumb ass Mulley and Hanley talking this morning with even dumber ass Gordon Witenmeyer this morning about how the Cubs offense is boom or bust because there are so many strikeouts in the line up. The Cubs are currently 23rd in K rate in the majors. I hate lazy narratives.
That is a dumb narrative but it did play a big role last night. Baez and Schwarber continually killed any momentum we had with strikeouts last night. Contreras got on 3 out of 4 times and never moved pass first base since they couldn't do anything.
Before I put it on Ebay, would anyone ITT want to purchase a team-signed 2016 WS ball? I'd let a TMB'er get it for a decent discount off of the Ebay price. Just PM me if interested...planning on listing it this weekend https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chicago-Cu...001665?hash=item2f1a144fc1:g:9P0AAOSwFLBaW1Cc https://www.fanatics.com/mlb/chicag...-1276+t-36778622+p-24518919973+z-9-4006209332
The Cubs/Machado stuff seems like absolute nonsense. Is his agent floating this or something? Maybe Baltimore?
Its probably Baltimore... with that said i'm not high on addy and if he was the centerpiece of this trade going back to Baltimore I would be fine with it. I just don't see the Cubs moving major assets for rentals especially when they can just sign one of the mega free agents that will hit the class like Machado or Harper and not give up anyone from the current roster.
Wait til the offseason. Giving up major assets for a rental this year just doesn’t make a ton of sense to me.
It worked out with Chapman so it i'm curious what Hoyer and Theo decide on. Machado is a monster... top 10 player in the game and only 25. So i'm not mad if they go after him especially if the deal is Addy + a couple prospects.
