I liked Ross, he had some issues but generally he did a nice job with the bull pen when not handed much. Looking forward to a ultra aggressive offseason
I thought Ross was a dipshit. Glad he's gone. Really interested too see what happens with Morel this off-season. Insane value but I love the guy
Hopefully it's that instead of hoping he can produce results with a lower middle payroll like he did in Milwaukee
They could’ve just lied, he wasn’t going to choose them anyways. This just makes them seem both incompetent and cheap
He’s not much better but Jesse rodgers indicated the report is credible. He’s doing a hit on espn radio in 15 minutes, so we’ll see how he expounds on it.
I was already feeling that way based on the lack of reported connections beyond speculation and the org being uncomfortable with elite free agent contracts that Soto would demand next offseason. Hopefully these bad headlines will at least force them to trade for Glasnow this week. Still, I don’t see how they acquire anyone who can replace belli, let alone make the offense better than it was last year.
Glasnow Chapman Belli would be a good offseason start… It’s not Ohtani but we never were going to play in those waters
I want nothing to do with Chapman. I just don’t need another 700 OPS hitter who is only going to give us like 15-20 home runs.
Jesse didn’t really say anything of substance (shocker). He danced around while carrying water for the org but said that these players are very expensive and teams have to think about that. He did mention that before jed met the media he got into it with nightengale and it was contentious lol
Apparently Jed smoked Bob… so his report may end up being bullshit. Jesse who never really scoops shit and somehow has this amazing rep is the only other person backing Bob. I’m back in the hope train. The BN dudes are not hearing the same thing Bob and Jesse are reporting fwiw
We’ve got $73 million to spend after projected arbitration salaries to stay under the tax threshold. If we get Glasnow that’s $48 million. That should be enough for Bellinger, Hoskins, and some relievers
They’re never going to give a pitcher 8 years let alone the 10 he might be getting. It was only a matter of time that they dropped out here.
I wanted Soto but probably not at the cost of all prospects we would have to give up, but with all these rumors of guys wanting this and who is bidding on who it’s starting to look like another disappointing offseason where we sign a mid level guy and take a few flyers out on some old arms and hope to get lucky again. You’ve got your manager now go get him some tools to work with.
I’m honestly not sure how much interest they had in bringing him back. He was pretty bad with them after the deadline. Almost all of his production was in that first 7 or so games when he was blisteringly hot. I have no idea what it will cost (it’ll be expensive) but it wouldn’t shock me if they try to get the rays to package Glasnow and Paredes to fill the TORP and third base holes
