Hard to believe we started this thing 15 years ago. Just got a random update from Courtney at Community Connections. So awesome they still have this thing going. Hi Jason!!!! I have not talked to you in a LONG TIME, but wanted to give you a RUFL update! Community Connections continues to grow and now offers a wide variety of sports, arts, and family support programs to over 1300 kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities each year. Our football, basketball, art, theatre, soccer, tennis, cheerleading, martial arts, golf, bowling, swim, and family programs are offered FREE of charge to families in Conway, Little Rock, Fort Smith, Russellville, Benton, Bryant, Morrilton, Sherwood, and Northwest Arkansas. You can read more about Community Connections and all we are up to at www.CommunityConnectionsAR.org. The Rivals United Football League is still alive and well. We started season a couple weeks ago and have leagues in Conway and Little Rock. We will be playing our final game on the stripes of the University of Central Arkansas football field on Saturday, November 4. If you’re on Facebook, you’ve got to check out Community Connections Facebook and Instagram pages for pictures of the kids in action. A couple pics are attached. We are getting ready to host our signature fundraising event called Good Night each November to raise money to purchase supplies, equipment, rental fees, and uniforms for programs for the following year. This year Good Night Suits and Sneakers will be held on Saturday, November 4 from 6-10pm at Wildwood Part for the Arts in Little Rock. Details are attached and you can check out our Good Night website. If you find ANY reason to be in Little Rock on November 4, I’d love to give you ticket to the party! How are you doing? I need a life update! I’d LOVE to get the original donors an update on the program you guys helped start!!
If there was a pro/con list of things TMB/Rivals did, this would go right near the top of the pro list. Great work Dbl.
