I heard there is going to be a cap on income regarding who gets the govt checks. If so, how would they know how much someone makes? The last tax filings were for 2018 and even if it was off of current payroll, many people are taking reductions or out of work entirely.

I think it’s easier/cheaper/more efficient to send everyone $6k and then add a line to the 2020 1040 form that says “subtract Coronavirus income from line 19” than it is to create an elaborate system of bureaucracy to police who gets the money and whether they really need it.

 

YMMV, and that’s actually one of the downsides. It’s not standardized or consistent across a group of users. Yeah it’s good for pain, but I’m reflecting my comparison to years on oxy and stronger opis.
