covid from waffle house finally got him
they sent them to fyre fest??
Not a surprise
I look forward to the debate over whether "3-7" is an acceptable number
Yep. And how many coaches in the hospital is acceptable.
Oh god, the replies!!!
let’s bring in the experts THF Whammy
NHL about to single handedly increase the numbers in Canada

Did they not see Las Vegas’ mayor? How on earth did they think a plan under that leadership and in that environment would be safe?
Well with the recent news of players testing positive from Covid upon return to college campuses, I think what we have demonstrated is that the players seem to be not protected from Covid by staying home.
However lets look at the data for the nation shall we?
According to the CDC, between February 1st, 2020 and June 20th, 2020, there were a total of 11,608 individuals between the ages of 15-24 who died from any condition. Of those deaths, 132 of those were related or tied to Covid.
If the same data holds over the next 5 months, To assume that 2 of those Covid deaths are going to be from such a small percentage of the population who are enrolled in NCAA football seems a bit of a stretch to me, but he is the computer science expert, not me.
I do have to think that if players are showing positive rates like they have been as they report to each program, than cancelling the season won't do much to protect them either.
Is Minnesota a candidate to host? It seems like it would be a natural fit and I think they have fewer cases than most states.
They were at one point but dropped off the map. I know its cases were on the upswing but it certainly have the infrastructure to pull it off.
I think the issue is that the NHL was dead set on Vegas and they wanted the second market to be a Canadian market. Now the US is a disaster so Canada wins.
Creative spin. I especially like the “having them play a contact sport while there’s an easily communicable, not easily treatable respiratory virus running amok might actually be as safe or safer for them” stance. Would read again.
Any time you can grab Danny Kannell talking points, you gotta use them
they're gonna die anyway
why not just play sports
Watch the NHL be the only one to pull it off because they decide to play all their games outside the US. Maybe the NBA should move its bubble to Toronto/Mississauga too.
that Illinois dude has a good quote: "how much risk you're willing to take will determine what kind of outcomes you'll have"
makes it pretty fucking simple IMO. Will really respect the first DI school that pulls the plug on fall sports
Being in close contact with a large group of people is the same as socially distancing. You heard it here first
the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association has requested that the NCAA extend the current temporary dead period through December and extend the moratorium on on-campus visits through March 2021
this was discussed here but was unanimously opposed by high school baseball coaches because they are afraid of the rain ruining the season, fall tends to be more dry than spring. And they don’t want to get cancelled. Neither reasons are good enough for me to not do it.
one of the least surprising things ever
this could be sensible... if you carry it through to its extremes and ensure sure that a team has no interaction with anybody not of that team aside from when they are on the field playing.
Who knew living with protocols(workouts with social distancing and/or masks) can limit the spread compared to living reckless.
FWIW, I think MSP falling off the radar for hosting was more due to the uncertainty in the Twin Cities associated with the George Floyd protests, not as much due to COVID concerns. At least that is what the local hockey writers believe.
Nope Minneapolis and St Paul have a billion hidden cases due to protestors but Soros funded crisis actors are hiding the cases and bodies.
Really not doable for cross-country trips. Even if you put every West-to-East trip as a) redeyes or b) night games ET those are horrid conditions for PT teams to play in. Good way to deplete the immune system.
Do all teams also have to fly on penises?
Lots of words again, so let me see if I’m getting this right. You’re saying they’re likely to get sick anyway so we might as well play football?
Let me help you out
She's not in charge of the real "Las Vegas" though
First Boeing and now COVID. I’m starting to think this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or just really likes people dying...
I think it’s more of picking a stance first, then pulling Dominique Moceanu-esque gymnastics to try to make the information fit his pre-chosen stance — all while typing way too many words.
That's not a debate we can have until we know which schools those 3-7 players attend.
What if they all attend Clemson?
Ayeeeeee....still alive and kicking, trying every WaHo in the Greater Atlanta Metro is time consuming you know.
Been getting crushed at work, have only been tangentially paying attention to the news and heading to Chicago tomorrow. Looks bad from what I can tell
this is deranged and demented
If the NBA can't get it done, there's no chance we see cfb
The NHL lucked into the US being a debacle by the time they made a decision.
