I've never been there later than like 7 am, so haven't been able to check it out

 

The brand new one in Atlanta. The decor inside is nice

 

The one in DFW and Denver are nice! Charlotte left a little to be desired.

 

I thought LAX was pretty underwhelming.

 

I will say that at this point they all totally miss the mark for "relaxing." That ship has saaaailed.

Always wondered about these. Most require direct deposit, but you can modify a $ amt into specific banks. Seems like a decent bit of manual work that is a bit more intensive

Have you done a business card at all? I never had until April. Been all Chase Preferred/Reserve, Amex plat, Cap One Venture x etc.

I opened the Chase Business Unlimited a few months ago when it was a 90k SUB. That is with a $0 AF. I was always hesitant with a business card but it was super easy.

The referral for chase business cards right now is also massive at 40k. That drops down to 20k on 9/3/24. You could get one then refer your wife?

NOTE: Do not get the Business Premier- those points can’t be transferred to the travel portal.

Also- you need to have a Preferred/Reserve card in order to transfer the points to a travel partner.

I need to start a "business" again and roll in these rewards. The spending limit dropping down from 15k to 8k makes it a little more manageable

I dismissed the Walmart+ benefit entirely when I first signed up but its actually something I get a ton of use out of.

 

A lot of times I go with Walmart over Amazon because I know I'm not getting a counterfeit item since it's coming directly from the store.

Points and miles cautionary tale:

Pre marriage I did a lot of travel. We did a moderate amount (including honeymoon in Tahiti at Conrad Bora Bora on pts) after marrying but before kids came along.

Long story short, I have thousands of dollars worth of points and spartan opportunities to redeem given current work/life/kids balance.

I now have ~$6k worth of Chase UR points and $2k worth of MR plus which will end up being redeemed on stupid stuff like gifts and Home Depot gift cards while these miles and point types get further devalued.

in b4 First World Problem.

 

I'm in a similar position but I'm just going to hold onto them/continue to accumulate for when we do travel more. Why waste them on "stupid stuff" if you don't feel like you're getting value out of those redemptions? Even if they devalue travel is still ultimately free when you use them even if it's less than what you think you should be getting out of them.
