I’m looking forward to their reunion at Coachella in 2027.
Is the video the released something previously shot? Or was that really made just for their breakup?
It's from Electroma, a Daft Punk movie that came out in 2006.
My most prized possession! It’s 314/500 print. It was on their website for a short time and I happened to be in there to snag one a few years ago.
thought so. Seems too perfect to just have that in your bank, but alas.
I watched the full 2007 Lollapalooza set video earlier this morning in mourning.
I was there — no big deal.
A Daft Punk BBC Radio 1 mix from 1999 (there's a tracklist in the comments of the video)
Live DJ set from 1997
I was today years old when I realized Daft Punk was not a single person.
agree that it is really bizarre to quit before releasing at least one more project. Just 8 years of radio silence.
The Touch at the end is such a nice touch
my favorite thing they’ve done
So basically Gwar
My wife got home and saw that I was listening to ‘This is Daft Punk’ on Spotify and was just like “you, uhh, alright?”
Did you tell her “no, now go away”?
Listening to Discovery now. Still amazing
Whoa I don’t think I realized that was a sample until now
Dosed up with some L one time and put this on
that piece of shit george Clooney movie derailed the tron legacy sequel and I’ll never forgive it. I wanted another 2-3 hour daft punk music video
They were serving draft beer, but also bottles of wine on ice and they would dump the whole bottle in an old school sports water bottle (think Gatorade style sideline bottles), so I drank four bottles of wine. Yes. Yes, I was feeling good and dancing like a complete and total weirdo.
Also, I should’ve gone to the Vegoose show that same year, but I balked. Dummy.
I love daft punk
Watched the Lollapalooza set last night. What a great set. Wish I could have seen them once. Wife was there in 07 and says it’s one of the best shows she’s ever seen at a lollapalooza.
Me too. I went to Bonnaroo that year and just couldn’t find away to go to a third big festival. That whole lineup at Vegoose was legendary aside from Daft Punk.
lol holy shit, I forgot how good that list was
Keep waiting for someone to bump this and say sike. But read a few good articles on them this AM. This one seems to capture that they were quite ready to step away for quite some time.
I’m obviously no longer hoping for a new album of theirs or for another tour. I do, however, hope that we can still get them working solo on producing other work with other artists. They’re just too good to stop working entirely.
Pharaohe Fuckin Monch.
Damnit, I’m not on Twitter and having trouble navigating through it. Will have to bring in Twitter verse friend reinforcements.
This article does pretty much the same thing
holy shit their albums have sky-rocketed on Discogs :(
Yeah. Hopefully temporary. Almost snagged RAM and Discovery 3-4 months ago. I am a dummy.
