Probably just an assistant. Maybe Gallant, but at this point he should be overlooked. Jay Woodcroft would make some sense if we made a mid season long term hire.
Firing Lalonde now would be crazy, but I suppose it’s not implausible. I think it’s more likely if we get to November 1 and the team is still playing this way that a change is made.
Yeah you need a sample size of 15-20 games, imo. Too much variance in four games. Look at the Avs, they are 0-4, Calgary is 4-0.
I didn't mean today (can't speak for others), but his leash should be about as short as any coach in the league. Yzerman is going to need to try something. Never thought it was a playoff or bust year for him, but if they aren't close to playoffs and he is rocking this roster instead of younger players, it's going to be tough defending him
Yea they said he was waived for cap reasons (i.e. they needed to waive him to make room for callups under cap) and he will be back up when that clears up
Happy to have been on the Berggren train for years. He doesn’t have the first line upside but he just produces points. Winger on your offensive minded third line is still a need.
They getting Nashville for 3rd man in there? One guy drops their gloves and goes after Chiarot, whose immediately jumped on from behind by another player when his gloves drop.
Lack of puck moving D and forwards with speed making breaking the puck out and getting through the neutral zone such a chore.
Edvinsson has played 21 minutes tonight (somehow he’s still ten seconds behind Chiarot for most minutes played though it’s less surprising when you figure Chiarot has spent a third of that time hemmed in his own zone)
Team needs to bank points any way possible and right now that’s by getting nonsensical goaltending. Embrace it and hope the team evens out some.
I know you were probably mentioning the Chiarot-Petry pairing, but in a game they were out shot almost 3 to 1, those Edvinsson-Seider numbers are also pretty impressive
