Oh yeah it’s all pretty bad right now. We have 2/6 D that can competently move the puck and 5/12 forwards you can rely on for creating offense. I think there is light at the end of the tunnel to get us competent sooner than later but more work has to be done.

That was a terribly soft call. That said, Chiarot is being paid a lot of money because he’s supposed to be hard to play against. He got absolutely manhandled off the puck, directly leading to that goal.

Flipped it on right as the goal went in. The system might not be great but imo the biggest issue is that the defense has maybe 1.5 above average NHL players and the forward group is either too young, overpaid, too old or Dylan Larkin. Feels like the FA agent signings two summers ago are gonna be an anchor around this rebuild unless Raymond becomes a super star and some other kids take a step up.
Talent is the biggest issue to be sure but the little offensive talent we have is being constrained by how conservative Lalonde has us playing.
I think it's hard to say any of these guys are anchors to our rebuild. We are going to have plenty of cap space and flexibility in offseason. And theoretically not a ton of spots to fill, so can target a couple top guys
