Rasmussen 2025 1st (top top five protected) One of ASP, Cossa, Danielson, Augustine One of Wallinder, Buium, Lombardi I think that might get it done
I don't think there is any chance we get him without ASP. I'd give up Danielson and Lombardi in a heartbeat. Danielson is basically a future 3rd line Center
The Eichel (with a 3rd rounder) deal is the closest comp, right? 1st rounder (easy, do it protected) 2nd rounder (easy, do it) Tuch (Wings don’t have a piece like this) Krebs (Wings have a ton of guys better than him as a prospect so maybe this evens out)
Vancouver fanbase specifically does not like ASP. He was drafted after their own Swedish defenseman and is outplaying him in this tourney again and is dominating men in the SHL while Willander is toiling away against kids in the NCAA.
Contracts are prorated during the season but we would still need to make an additional move I am sure
Puck Pedia says we have $5.5 million in space right now so seems like it would actually be pretty easy for this year.
I wonder how many Petersson fanfic trades/RFA signing scenarios DeToxRox has made over the years, it's definitely in the double digits.
This isn’t even the same hockey team as the one the got dumptrucked by St Louis right before Christmas. Pretty much dominating a team with 56 pts, in their place, through half a period.
Team isn't great, but they also weren't as bad as they’ve shown. The team clearly hated playing for Lalonde and some pretty obviously weren't giving it full effort
Im sure some of it is just chemistry and having a new voice but the system seems far more aggressive, particularly on zone entries and trying to keep the puck in the offensive zone v the old one (both more pinching and a shift in how aggressive the forecheck is).
It’s been cool to see the team playing better (and they absolutely are better) but our xGF is barely above what it was under Lalonde. We are shooting something like 15% since McLellan took over which isn’t sustainable. Yzerman needs to make some tangible moves if he wants to truly compete for the playoffs.
In division trades are tricky, he's also just started a 7x7.1. I imagine Steve has been hard balling what Cozens value actually is, is he the 30 goal scorer of a couple years ago or was that a peak outlier and he's really JAG.
I think the only way a deal happens is if Buffalo really likes a few of our roster pieces which seems unrealistic. I would say something along the lines of Compher, Kasper and Mazur or Lombardi would be the limit to which I’d go for a deal.
Kasper is a nice addition to the top line, hopefully that is something that sticks. Time for Yzerman to capitalize on some of this momentum and make a deal.
