It's basically all the cable channels I care to watch, flat fee, DVR functionality, over the top service (no proprietary peripherals to buy, etc). It's excellent. The best alternative to cable.
Googled it, sounds lame. ANd even if it was something I wanted to watch, there is a 99.9% chance I'll watch it once and never watch it again.
Cut the chord two weeks ago and was excited about only paying $40/month for YouTube TV. Then I got the email yesterday that it is about to go up to $50/month
Still cheaper than cable but yeah I wasn't happy to get that email either, especially since I don't care about those channels.
I won't be subscribing but at least there's a lot of good content. I pay $7 for cbs all-access because those motherfuckers at cbs made all-access the only way to legally watch the new star trek in the united states, and there are still commercials
I torrance Star Trek, because it’s an obvious cash grab by CBS. I will pay for Disney Plus, because they are offering content worth the price.
You should just wait for all episodes to come out each season, subscribe for one month, then cancel for the rest of the year.
or OR i could subscribe for the few months that new episodes are airing, watch the episodes right when they come out, and then unsubscribe when the season is over because i'm not too concerned about paying $6 vs $18 for something i like
now that i think about it... i honestly wonder if they made this season of star trek 13 episodes so people would have to pay for an extra month fuck cbs
I wanted to like Vue but I finally gave up on it. We have Hulu w/ Live TV rn and it’s better and also cheaper. I’d like to try YouTube TV but I have Fire TVs and I’m not buying new shit because google and amazon are mad at each other, so google will have to make an app for fire tv if they want me. Will never go back to regular cable. I was at $195 for google fiber + TV, now I pay $70 for gigabit internet, $60 for Hulu TV w/ HBO, so a big savings. I will likely get ESPN+ with the big 12 giving them content. Not sure if I will pull the trigger on this Disney thing, they have a great library but I’m not sure I’d use it enough.
I didn’t even realize they got control of Hulu with the 21st century fox acquisition lol. What a monster of a company they are
Sounds like they’ll have some package deal to get Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for cheaper than subscribing to all 3 separately, so I’ll be all over that
Lol.. Disney will make a point to be less than Netflix. How many parents will have this shit on nonstop for their kids...
i'd watch a new star wars tv series but the idea of having access to the old movies as a selling point seems weird to me. it feels like you can catch those on spike tv or tnt every week and most people probably own the original trilogy, anyways. but some of this stuff sounds cool.
I already have every Star Wars & Marvel movie. $7 is pennies to a Muncie hundredaire like myself, but I'm struggling to justify adding it to my entertainment lineup. Actual tv/movie costs: YTTV (Currently cancelled, live during football and basketball season) - $40 $50 HBO (During GOT season to avoid spoilers) - $15 Netflix (always) - $15 Hulu - Free (already paying for Spotify) Prime - Free (paying for it regardless)
I don’t think the traditional tv networks can allow the streaming services to be money pits in the form of ad free for any extended period of time
I hope they expand the bundle to include the live TV option on Hulu. Say, everything for $55 or something. I’m all over that. I’ve loved YTTV, but the whole price increase for stuff I’ll never watch annoys me. Do it Disney.
i hope you all enjoy your cartoon animals and "laser battles" and what have you. i shall subscribe to the Criterion Channel
I doubt Disney will be extending any third party’s rights to air content they’re moving to Disney+. I’m guessing most don’t own them in 4K HDR format. And the old Disney animated movies are the bigger pull - it is not easy to find those.
using force awakens scenes to put Carrie Fischer into IX, this is going to be a fine tightrope they walk.
Disney offering a discounted 3-year subscription this weekend $140 for 3 years https://popculture.com/streaming/20...-LAYBwByNnhgwrdfAD2Twt93woR6sKa3vzbPIfU2eLyB8
I feel like I read through that and it didn’t tell me how to get the one free year. Going back to read again
It's normally $70 for a year Sign up for the D23 fan club (free one will work) and you get 3 years for $140 where it would normally be $210
