This is extremely false, watching some of you melt down at even the slightest pushback is incredible. Truly child like.

Support fully nationalized healthcare, would be willing to endure higher taxes to make this happen

I mean I don't think the Georgia voting law is as awful as it sometimes gets painted to be, but I still can't for the life of me see how it's moderate.

I don’t really know what to call the underlying philosophical belief - compassionate capitalist? Something like that.

Buisness gives us the resources to do great things, but we need to use those resources to improve outcomes and reduce the unequal distribution of wealth, provide universal healthcare, etc…it’s not that controversial

Voting for a single Republican is antithetical to this philosophy so you're either duped or lying

This is pretty much where I’m at, which no one seems to believe on the board.

Believe both parties are regressing towards more authoritarianism but the maga version is presently more dangerous hence why I mostly continue to vote Democrat at the national level (Senator Warnock in Georgia + Biden and Clinton for Prez).

For those that would see the Kemp stance as contradicting this, I see him as a trad Republican not the new dangerous type

The amount of people in here (which I generally think reflects the Democrats base) advocating for killing Republicans, packing the courts, anti-free speech leanings, use of “fascistic” in what should be everyday civil debate would have been unthinkable 8 years ago.

Think something like 50% of democrats think people expressing conservative values should be fired from their job (operating from memory, forgive if a little off). Just to reiterate, the Republican version is more dangerous but you have to have blinders on if you think the Dem base is not willing to throw civil liberties in the trash to achieve policy objectives.

So first I'd disagree pretty vehemently that the posters on here represent the Democratic base. We're mostly reluctant Democrats that hate the party and would abandon it in a second if there was a marginally better option.

Secondly, the rhetoric you're talking about is largely in response to the anti-democratic policy and legislation of the far right Republican Party. Calling them fascistic when they do fascist shit is not authoritarian. "Packing the courts" when Conservatives have spent decades packing it in their favor is not authoritarian, it is a response to their anti-dempcracy actions. I am very much not the one with blinders on here

If the policy objective is “leave people alone and let them live their lives” I’m not sure how that squares with what you’re saying about Dems and civil liberties. It seems to me that the Dems want civil liberties and the GOP objective is “let people be free as long as it’s in line with white Protestant Christian values.”

Also gonna need some policy positions by the Democratic Party that are anti free speech. If you're talking about cancel culture you might as well just put a big sign on your head that says "I gulp down conservative propaganda like I'm dying of thirst"

This isn’t hard. It’s going to be Biden v Trump again and we’re going to be down to several thousand votes again. Biden will probably win and nobody will be exceptionally happy but we will have avoided another attack on democracy (after another attempted coup via at least the courts, imo). Then Biden will die and Trump won’t run again because he’s dead or something and we’ll have some insano way more competent person take the white nationalism torch and turn himself into a dictator.

The Democratic base, especially in the party primaries that pick candidates, is in large part made up of pretty conservative (older) AA voters which is why people like Joe Biden get nominations.
