I honestly don't even think Biden wants to run in 2024 and I don't think he can even make it to 2028. Knowing the DNC they are going to push for Kamala. I'm sure Newsom and Buttgieg will get some talk and others will convince themselves that this is the time where Bernie actually wins the nomination
Basically why I voted yes. If AOC was eligible I would’ve voted differently. In a vacuum my answer to this is no.
I would also just like to state that I have some prime pg1 real estate (2nd reply) for sale on this inevitable rational 20+ page thread.
Reality is though that it doesn't matter. Nor does it matter which party wins. Death spiral is too tight at this point.
No, for a few reasons but the top one is he will get smoked in a general by anyone not named Trump, and even Trump might get him. He fit the bill for beating Trump in 2020, but he has been an ineffective leader for the agenda he was voted in on. Squandering the 50/50 senate for two years and getting bullied by a senator from West Virginia is inexcusable. I don’t know that Kamala or Pete or Newsome are the right answer. They all seem empty to me. You have to be a egomaniac sociopath to rise to the top of the GOP, you have to be an empty suit with no real convictions to rise to the top of the Democratic Party it seems. Elizabeth Warren was the right answer from a policy and governance perspective the last time and she’s probably right again this time, but she ain’t winning. IDK.
Yes. An effective President and frankly broader administration would have found a solution to get key policy and agenda goals across the goal line in the first two years with a 50/50 senate. Maybe not everything, but more than nothing. To excuse them from that obligation is weak.
I’m going to have the sads when the 2024 choice is Biden v Trump. I’m going to laugh when the 2024 choice is Clinton v Trump.
I don't know enough about the potential candidates, but preferably someone younger, energetic and not too far leaning left. Same for the Republican side- younger, energetic, and not too far leaning right.
the senate is "50-50" in name alone. it is actually more like 52/48 in the wrong direction. i'm curious how you propose biden, or anyone really, gets manchin or the bitch sinema to play ball?
