some of the shape of their faces look like pit mixes to me. Patterns and eyes could definitely be husky tho plus the thickness of the coat
yeah I would say either, Pit/Husky, Lab/Husky, or even Lab/Pit since I've seen Pits with light colored eyes as well. all depends on how they grow up too. How old are they do y'all think?
8 weeks is what they posted with the photos, they seem a tad older to me but i don't know when or where they got them so they may have a better idea of DOB than most shelter surrenders
Dammit dude I'm trying to get my budget figured out before I decend on your puppy palace. Next time I'm in Atlanta I'll hit you up. For reals this time.
Since you guys are dying to know I went with Merrick raw infused in is grain free and they seem to love it
Hit up the beach again this morning. So many weirdos. Everyone from a dude in a neon blue speedo, a lady walking around in the water carrying her yorkie in a wicker basket, then this dude
Went to the pound today. Because my Vet is next to one. Saw an 7 year old male English Bulldog. All the other dogs were barking and jumping. He was sitting in a corner looking so broken. It fucking broke my heart. Think the owners turned him in because of medical shit. If I didn't have two I'd have gotten him. I hate people so much don't get a bulldog if you can take care of them don't get one if you can't afford the med bills mIrite dblplay1212
My new next door neighbors have a super cute wiener dog who comes to say hi when I'm messing around with my grill. I haven't actually spoken to the humans yet.
I house sat for my dad this weekend and went to the Barbasol Championship. Got home from dinner Friday night to find the back door open, his 14 year old lab chilling in the middle of the foyer, and no sign of my sister's Chihuahua. I panicked, and walked around the neighborhood with a flashlight for two hours and drove for another yelling her name ("Cookie"). I even had some high school kids who heard me yelling offer to help. After three hours, I went back home to grab some water and collect myself. I heard a whine and then a bark. Initially, I thought it was coming from outside and walked around the house. I finally figured out that she'd locked herself (or the lab locked her) in one of the bedrooms.
Parents have my labs for a few months while I'm working somewhere that won't allow pets in their housing. Month 1 without my dogs sucks. 2 to go.
So on Friday night I was supposed to run a Pixel event but it got cancelled due to weather, so I brought these two back to Orlando and they hung out with us at home until I could take them to their foster. I find out the next morning that both of them had explosive diarrhea right after the foster mom got them home. Dodged a bullet there.
Also, the Husky mix puppies I posted about on Friday are in their foster homes, i'm sure we will be getting pics soon. We also got several more pups over the weekend, so will post pics later. Please let me know if anyone is interested as always. Also for the Florida and Georgia peeps, anywhere in the state, we need good foster homes desperately, if you know of anyone please let me know. Thanks!
dump we're taking our girl to my fiance's parents' house this weekend. She'll be 8 weeks-post immiticide injections. Is it too risky to strap on a life jacket and let her paddle around in their pool still? I've gotten her up to about half-mile walks twice daily to try to combat her weight gain but don't want to have her overdo it.
it all depends on how bad her heartworm disease was. I would call the vet who treated her and ask tbqh.
Yup. It sucks. One of my labs is pretty much attached to my hip ever since I fostered then eventually adopted her. My mom said she started doing the same thing with her, and also told me her eyes look so sad most of the time. I can't even go visit because they are out of the country until the beginning of august.
Found out today that the Lab/Husky mix pups, their dad was a lab/husky mix, and mom was a purebred chocolate lab. Dodger Duke Sky Gator BB There's 3 others I don't have pictures of yet.
Can't remember who we have ITT that is a plott hound guy, but this baby girl just became a pixel pup, we think it is a plott hound about 9 weeks old. Her name is Anichka. Apparently she has a sister as well I'm trying to get a picture of her
that scares me to death, i like the idea but especially in Georgia it worries me. I really hope they all end up in good homes, but I worry a lot of them will end up as bait in dog fighting rings. You wouldn't even believe some of the dogs we see from Georgia and the horrific things that have been done to them
Sorry man, not trying to be a downer. I love it for the dogs, get them out of the shelter, saves the shelter workers from having to put them down. I just don't trust people
If any of y'all are interested in fostering retired racers as they make the transition to the good life. The Mobile track is ending live racing effective 19 August. They have an estimated 280 greyhounds that will go out to adoption groups so your local greyhound chapter will need all the foster homes they can get. I'm sure they all do like the Nashville one does where they pay for food, vet care, crate, etc for the fosters. Here's a list of local greyhound pets of america chapters. http://www.greyhoundpets.org/chapters.php
Oh for fuck sakes, we have dog anti vaxxers now? edit - is this why Ive been seeing 'pawtism' jokes on twitter today?
Anyone ever had a dog go through a TPLO procedure? Twoman just had one last friday. He is whining quite a bit. Feel awful that I can't really do anything about it.
any pain meds? Tramadol or such? not a tplo experience but more hip surgery and amputation surgery experience
two pain meds and an antibiotic. so it shouldnt be pain related. maybe ask for a light sedative and see if its an anxiety thing with the cone and not being able to roam free.
I think you're right. He will whine a bunch in the morning; then I'll join him and he will calm down.
Hey y'all, i just took over running the Pixel Fund Youtube, I'd appreciate anyone who can take a second to go over there and subscribe to the channel, i'll be posting lots of videos going forward and hope to do some live streaming of kitten and puppy litters in the near future. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeenXGqQ4HWFXTEUHxjtaGA Thanks fam
Hey All, these 5 pups are coming to Orlando next weekend, there's a rescue group in Georgia going belly up and they asked us to help them with some of their animals. Please share with anyone you know who's looking for a pup or wants to foster. I can't say enough how badly we need new fosters, every new foster we get is another untold # of lives saved. Thanks for letting me post these here and try to help them, to you all. Floyd (6 month old male Rotty) Amos (Jack Russell mix, male 2 y/o) Darla (unknown mix, female 8 y/o) Here's Darla's "before" pic from when she was rescued - Sully (unknown mix, male 3 y/o) Buddy (unknown mix, face looks like Chi but they say he's 20 pounds, 18 months old) Also this is Lily, she was adopted out but is being returned, adopter saying she's not cat safe, our foster mom saw no issues with her before she was adopted. 2 y/o female pit mix
One Knight dump Since you two work with dogs you probably know the best. Took my pup to get his 3 set of shots yesterday. He got his first set at 6 weeks second at 8 and yesterday at 11. I've heard different things so I am confused. When is it okay for him to start going out? I've been told to wait a week but I've also been told to wait till after his rabies shot at 16 weeks.
