I’ve been enjoying the sheer terror of learning everything, and have only really played Woods, Customs, and Factory. Anybody playing this game?
I have it and have played it some...all solo like a year ago. It was hard. Looking forward to getting back into it though, especially with other people as it seems more fun for me when playing in groups.
Though, I must legitimately be a scavenger in real life, because I don’t mind waiting for most of the game to scavenge the remains after most everyone escapes or dies. Sorry, lehmanspeed
Haha yeah. I spent my first few games dying with full load outs because I couldn’t figure out where exits were
Customs This is a good Customs map, very thorough. The only loot it doesn’t show are the hidden stashes. Those you can see in the following link: Woods This is a good map for both loot, exits, and those hidden stashes. Factory For factory, I tend to wait until the PMC is done drawing in and killing all the scavs. I typically keep an out eye for other User scavs and PMC’s, but I wait it out.
First raid in .12. Spawn on customs near the guard tower across from the big warehouse. Sneak climb the stairs, hear voices and get domed before I got to the top and before I saw anyone. play time: 1 min 13 seconds. FEELS GREAT TO BE BACK
Depends. EOD has the most to help you get started plus the bigger gamma case (case that lets you keep loot even if you die). It’s a 3x3. The 2x2 comes with the rest. you could always just buy the 2x2 and then upgrade to EOD if you really love the game. The upgrade is just the difference in cost however you have to reset your account (basically a hard wipe). Rumor is the next hard wipe is in May. I’m going to upgrade to EOD and wipe my account in February when they have a flash sale (Feb 23). That’s the anniversary of the game.
I bought the EOD version and have not regretted it. In fact, it might be the first game I actually consider streaming
J2tp or j2thep can’t remember which I’m not on a ton during the week though but would love to duo or trio if/when I can
It’s a wonderfully exciting, terrifying, and difficult game. Maps take time and some spatial awareness to learn, but man, escaping successfully is a great feeling
So what’s the concept of the game? I’ve watched a few streams and they go around collecting loot then try to get to a extract zone. Are you picking up loot to craft certain things, do you want to get kills like PUBG to get more tokens? Looks cool just don’t really get the concept. Someone dumb it down for me please.
Spoiler PMC: The player uses their main character, entering the raid with gear equipped by the player. Once in raid, the player can pick up any gear from dead players, dead AI[3], as well as loot from loot spawn locations such as filing cabinets, bags, safes and computer tower blocks. If a PMC dies, the player drops everything that is equipped or stored on the player with the exception of the items in the secure container. In order to survive and extract with any gear they picked up, players have to make it to an extraction point. Extraction points are assigned at the beginning of a raid and some require certain conditions to be met (such as Customs Vehicle Exit requiring a payment of 7000 roubles per person extracting, or the 'Cliff Descent' extract requiring the player to be carrying a paracord and a climbing ice pick). Scav: The player can also go into a raid as Scav, the AI faction, with a random set of gear and equipment. Scav AI will start off as neutral to a Scav player, but often other players have also entered the raid as a Scav. Scavs will face off against PMCs and potentially other Scav players. Any loot gathered by the player as a Scav can be transferred to the main character, while dying as a Scav has no penalty aside from lost gear. In order to survive and extract with any gear you picked up, Scav players must also use extraction points, which may sometimes be exclusive to scavs. If a player Scav shoots a fellow Scav, they will defend themselves and nearby Scavs will become hostile to them.
What blazing rebel said, basically. Items you pick up can be used for your “hideout”, which will allow you to level up quicker, recover from death at a faster rate, have passive money coming in. It’s fleshing out as the patches come in, and it’s pretty nice to see the progress of getting better with a mouse and keyboard. For me, anyway.
It’s a massive time sync too; especially factoring in the learning curve. The first two patches I played I barely got to lvl 10 before wipes. During those patches, sustainability was even worse and much harder. Basically you run out of money and depend on successful scav runs haha.
There was a character wipe today, which means most everyone starts back at square one in terms of skills and items. If this is your kind of game, now would be a good time to jump in.
