Really hope these schools see this situation unfold and cancel the games. Sucks there are a bunch of kids on both sides getting screwed over cause of some asshole adults. On top of that I feel really bad for the kids on Bishop Sycamore for getting duped into this situation.

If I had a guess there's some sort of arrangement here like a marketing firm is paying IMG to show off its players, paying Sycomore to get their ass beat, paying ESPN to broadcast it but gets their money back with gate revenue (oops) and sponsorship, while also making inroads with the stars.
Semi-related, but when I was a sophomore, our team was top 10 in the state and had three defensive linemen committed to play D1. My job as a sophomore was on the scout team offensive line for the first team varsity defense during our 30-minute live team sessions. Every now and again, us sophomores would get off a good play against the first team varsity defense, but then instead of sneaking it back later in the session to see if the defense picked up on it, the coaches would just yell "Run it again!" and do the same play over again. I still remember we got off a 12-yard inside trap where I pulled and had a nice block against our starting DT who was committed to a MAC school and outweighed me by about 75 lbs. When we 'ran it again' he was waiting for me, absolutely demolished me and decimated the RB two yards in the backfield. I imagine this game was 48 minutes of that play.
Bishop is probably getting paid, similar to when you get the FCS or low FBS schools to travel to like Bama full well knowing they're going to lose by 50
It's called Bishop Sycamore but if it's an online charter school it's actually funded by taxpayer dollars. Online charter schools care only about making as much money as they can. End of story.
Oh I know. It brought back memories of having to do that same thing. Hated how our defensive coaches always wanted to run scout team offense plays against a defense that was the perfect play call to stop it. Because that never happened in high school games in the 90's.
Charter schools in general. They do kids such a disservice, the teachers are treated like total shit which inevitably leads to them just using the school as a springboard to a public school job, meaning turnover is ridiculously high.
If you send your son to an online charter school to play football, you know you are in for sketchy shit. From all appearances, it exists just to “promote” high school football players. There is no mention of academics and any google search for the school just hits “football camps” and “recruiting videos.”
Yup. This seems like a “school” that preys on underprivileged kids who struggle academically, have deluded themselves into thinking they have a future in football, and have parents who are just glad their kid went from HS drop out to doing anything with their lives. Sad all around.
funny thing is he did something like this. They went to champagnat which is in like a strip mall and brought in a bunch of kids to play football. They had some connection in Africa and brought in a bunch of African kids with promises to get them scholarships

They had kids taking online classes at Columbus Metro Library until the Ohio Department of Education shut them down. Now the coach has this school.
