I think that this is going to be fixed in an upcoming patch
bethesda's continued struggles with ps4 compatibility is one of the most embarrassing things about this generation so far. just awful.
Yeah I read that too, although I was really hoping for better options than
a) start a new character or
b) wait for an undefined several weeks then maybe you can play again
edit: oh wow, even when starting an entirely new game, the male character model is still invisible, that's broken beyond belief
2nd edit: it's actually even worse, as soon as I stepped away from the mirror, the male character become visible and my female character became invisible. I guess option B is all I've got.
Last edit (since I know everyone was following my story with bated breath): I found a fix. Saw someone mention it was a memory cache issue so I booted my ps4 in safe mode and restarted from there, poof, problem solved.
Is the new DLC any good? I installed but only played long enough to make a robot before I fell asleep.
Just made the plunge and got a PS4 + FO4. :bartscott: to try out Survival Mode
I was hoping somebody more informed might make a comment, but the thread seems dead
It sounds like you're talking about the automatron DLC, which is fairly limited. It's one small quest sequence that offers a couple items and the ability to make robots. Useful as provisioners if you do settlement stuff, but robots have a negative drag on settlement happiness. I don't use companions so I don't care about that portion.
You're waaay behind on the timeline if you think that DLC is new, Far harbor has been out for a while and from what I've read, is pretty solid, large new area, good quests etc, but I can't speak to it because I haven't experimented with it yet. I wanted to have access to mods before I advanced my main character more, but I didn't anticipate the delays they would have getting shit to work on the ps4, so I'm in a bit of limbo.
The nuka world DLC has been confirmed as the last one for fallout 4
Yea I'm way behind. Haven't even finished the main quest. I didn't know robots have a negative affect on happiness. So should I not make them at all or what?
I downloaded Far Harbor but I should probably finish the main quest line before I start it.
Make sure you have a high affinity with Valentine before you finish the main quest, otherwise you wont be able to start Far Harbor right away
It doesn't matter unless you're OCD about happiness levels, robots just have a base happiness of 50 so whenever it's averaged in it will drag down a settlements happiness. If you care about reaching 100 happiness then I wouldn't add a robot to that particular settlement.
I do like to use some robots for supply lines, but I tend to have them all at a hub instead of one robot per settlement. For example, I have all regular settlers at sanctuary, red rocket, tenpines bluff, abernathy farm, and sunshine tidings co-op, but I can have 5 robots at starlight drive in as provisioners to those settlements, they don't need food or water so I don't have to build anything but the robot station at the drive in and all of my settlements are still connected to supply lines. Starlight drive in will stay at 50 happiness, but I don't have to care, since the other settlements can all still get to 100 happiness.
enjoyed the game, but just can't get into the mainquest. Have done every other quest.
On my second play through with Survival Mode and I can't recommend it enough. I was always jealous of the FO3 PC guys who had FWE, and this is about what I expected of that. It's completely changed how I approach the game.
This prompted me to start my survival mode playthrough last night. This is really difficult.
Just got killed by a suicider mole rat
What the fuck
Wait until the first time you're running through Back Bay, turn the corner and run into a Deathclaw.
Allllll the Psychojet.
I just bought this game lol
Is there new dlc?
Think I'm going to dive back in until the new dlc for destiny comes out.
Random opportunity to bump a dead thread
Anyone else downloading/playing the nuka world DLC tonight?
Woof, new perks [levels] look pretty lame. Maybe not if you just have the points to spare, but clearly trying to prop up some little used perks.
+5% hit chance and +5% damage in vats? great!...gotta take awareness twice for it
10% damage resistance...oh, I need four levels and my dog for it
+2 perception, neat!...wtf? who uses v.a.n.s.?
+10 action points, well that's nice...why do I need three levels of quick hands to get it?
And it's not like the luck tree really needs to be more powerful, but c'mon...a "higher" chance the mysterious stranger will fill my critical meter? They clearly just couldn't think of anything to add here right?
*I haven't been very far down the STR and END trees...I think they added to pain train and ghoulish? I may be wrong, but if that's what they did then the entire concept of my post still stands.
Man it's like a foreign language it's been so long since I've played.
Anyone finish nuka world? I've cleared all of the theme parks and now have to do the nuka factory. Shit is getting tedious but I'm enjoying it.
hi yes, just started fallout 4
hot damn that first hour
You're in for a treat, Swim.
See you in a couple of months.
i had the thirst all fucking day.
whats funny is i played fallout 3 (came with it) in the spring, then witcher expansion over the summer, now finally after travel and work has died down, i can finally partake in the awesomeness that is Fallout4
Wait until you try out Survival Mode
im playing it hard to start
so yeah building shit is weird, the perk system was/is still odd
and holy crap my balls shriveled when that deathclaw came outta nowhere in the 2nd or 3rd mission
how quickly do i need to build up sanctuary? do walls and all that shit matter?
You can pretty much ignore it if you want.
Like Jean-Ralphio said, it's essentially meaningless when it comes to the main game on normal/hard/etc with one exception (I don't want to say more because it's a spoiler). I would argue the settlement system becomes far more important on survival mode because of gameplay mechanics.
idk i like it, i built up a nice straight metal open warehouse style thing and ringed the roof with turrets and spot lights and walled off the back end with nothing but food and water and a few spotlights going on the corners.
I'm an idiot yes
I like it as well. Let's just say the Commonwealth knows not to fuck with The Castle.
Learn to use the floors to build on. Took me forever to learn that.
Dude we are same. I have so much artilery and turrets and shit at the Castle. When I get a notice that it is being attacked, by the time I travel there its over.
In my survival play through, I
sided with the Minutemen, so I built it up to something like a 380 defense rating. When the Institute attacked, the battle was over in about 5 minutes without me firing a shot.
I haven't made it that far lol. I need to finally finish it.
It's a good story. You should finish it
When you're building there's a piece that's a concrete floor. Use it for your base. Or the wood one on stilts.
i used the metal frame with the floor and the roof, and then just built hallways with that and added addtl walls, and then stairs on the back end outside inside my fences
1. what point do enemies start attacking you?
2. do they come from a specific point or is it all random?
1. It's a "random" chance, but is more likely to happen when your food + water > defense
2. There are specific spawn points, but you can't identify them without mods.
I don't use the pre made structures much at all. I like to custom build my four story mansions.
Damn it. Sony just told PS4 users (including me) to go fuck themselves.
No mods for us.
Are you serious?
People got refunds for this shit for no mans sky.
Here is the full statement from Bethesda (released yesterday I believe) if you don't want to go through their site
After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.
Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.
We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.
So yeah, I'm not joking, even if that last sentence is a meager glimmer of hope that eventually this could change.
Wait what's mod support?
If you want the death claws to look like Randy Savage you need mods
