TBH she would have been better off climbing UP the ladder behind her on that rig than climbing down into the death trap that was a semi-obvious hiding spot
Something about the pacing and order of that finale felt off to me. Salvaged by some great acting though. A better season than the last few for sure but left something on the table.
Well, I loved it. Not sure the ending stands up to the first two seasons (definitely need more time to digest) but what a great season of television.
probably would have been better off doing the tillman ranch raid all in one episode the ending of that just felt rushed in the 10 minutes at the start of the episode and didnt come together with the rest of it
Just one man’s opinion but Munch very much felt like Chigurh to me (ie death and destruction embodied) so I appreciated that Nadine was able to level with him (unlike Carla Jean). It felt a little bit like “if you ask me, the light’s winning”
i binged the season in 3 days and i loved the ending personally. i might put season 5 at the top of my rankings. right wing nutjobs are a special interest of mine so this season was directly up my alley. a well done female protagonist is a big deal to me too. munch is such a classic cohen-style bad guy in the vein of Fargo and No Country. i really think they nailed it on this one. and congrats to hawley and hamm for making one of the most hateable people ive ever seen on TV. also, Spoiler i did not expect a character to be 500 years old but im here for it
Loved the whole season and the ending. I thought how they handled the raid was also well done. A militia that's been hoarding weapons and preparing for years for this moment, only for them to still be wildly outmanned and outgunned with zero chance of success.
Is this the consensus? Ive only started this show off the season 5 buzz. Binged it and loved it. Gonna start a watch of them all. But based off this thread i can skip season 4?
4 was fine just not up to the standard of the others. It's entertaining enough if you're looking for something to watch during a content dead period
At the time, I thought the brawl at the PTA meeting was kinda silly but it really set up the tenor of the season of 2019 as a boiling point for crazies.
I’m not sure if it’s just recency bias but that final scene at the Lyon’s house with Moonk was maybe the best of the series. Dot capturing their similarities and breaking it down was really well done, just a helluva performance and ending for some great characters(even more minor ones like Wayne and Scotty)
Juno Temple was a revelation and it was great to see Hamm in dramatic role again (despite him crushing it as a comedic actor imo) but as vander02 said the unknown actors did such an amazing job. The whole season felt lived in despite its absurdities.
One of the hallmarks of Fargo is having charismatic actors and letting them cook and I’ll never forgive season 4 for sidelining Timothy Olyphant
In a season of incredible performances, I still can’t believed the job Juno Temple did. I thought there was no way I wouldn’t just see Keeley the whole time. She just crushed it. 1, 5, 2……….. 3/4
I get that they're very different show with their own style but seeing what she did this season makes me kind of upset that she was totally wasted in Ted Lasso
she played up the stereotypical Love Island UK castmember perfectly on Lasso, which they needed for the Tart paramore role. but yea so much depth to her that maybe they couldve casted her differently.
I wanted to cry when my boy got got . What a gentlemen he was with flawless morals and ethics. This season fucks hard
Just finished last night. Ole Munch is straight out of a Cormac McCarthy novel. His sly smile to Dot when she said some debts can be forgiven was great. Honestly felt bad for Gator at the end. Just brutal when Roy told him he was useless to him and left him.
I finally got around to watching S5 over Thanksgiving, and I have to say this season is neck and neck with S1 and S2 in my book. It has fascinating storytelling.
Just below 1 and 2 for me but it brought back the old feelings. Really good stuff I hope this bodes well for future seasons
2, 5, 1 3 4 so many awesome scenes in season 5. The debate was hilarious Favorite part of the season was Lorraine saying "that's my girl" to Dorothy after telling her she heard Roy got shot in the stomach
