I have about 50 hours in, got it for Christmas. Really like it so far. I rarely fast travel because you pick up quite a bit of AP by driving or riding chocobos by upping that in the ascension menu.
Got all the way through the second door of the first dungeon then promptly fell through the map and had to redo the whole thing.
Not liking these later chapters that are linear. Do I get back to the main world anytime soon? I just got Shiva.
Going through this one now. I’m around level 60 on Chapter 8. Doing the critical hit on point blank warps kind of broke combat for me but whatever. At one point I saved up 250k XP and then went to Galdin Quay and doubled it up. That just wasn’t fair.
I finished it a week or so ago. Who the fuck thought that having a party of all (completely uninteresting) males was a good idea? Did they get a bunch of backlash from incel gamers for having Lightning as a female lead in XIII or something? Add in boring combat, an unengaging story and worthless companions and you have probably my least favorite FF game ever. The only fun part was listening to the soundtracks of previous games while driving. And the summons were cool to watch, but why were they seemingly random events in battle? Would not recommend.
combat was boring but it looked flashy, so thats something i guess. they definitely struggled with the transition to real time combat but 7:R was much much better.
I don’t mind the combat system, but the main story just kind of throws you in and doesn’t give you much info to go by.
Just caught the Noble Araipama in the Liege of the Lake quest. Took like 10-15 minutes of fucking reeling. What a pain.
