Show me the lie. Clemson is 5-5 against us in the last 10 as well
We've already ended losing streaks of 4 and 5 (Don't research which program we lost five in a row to please) in our sparse victories so far this season.
If the interception machine Trevor Lawrence goes all out Fromme against us it's foreseeable. Going 6-5 over them during their most glorious 11 year span would be annoying for them.
WHO IS THE MYSTERY TEAM?!
They actually scheduled Mystery Team, noted ‘crootin power house
I'm hoping a big12 team.
I’m hoping for ACC, preferably UVA.
Sorry Daniel Ocean the world must wait for Jim vs Chip
Sounds like Michigan was scared of UCLA
damn fool scared of that big chip dong
Don't forget Arkansas too
#Michigan Wolverines you're embarrassing the B1G
Smart of Michigan to schedule opponents that could be under water by the time they play them, due to global warming.
just looked don’t think this is in anticipation of scheduling another home and home with ND
ND already has Home and Aways with Clemson, Ohio State, and USC those seasons no chance they add Michigan as well
Weird three way trade of games between UConn, Ole Miss, and MTSU.
Notre dame won 11 national championships
The joys of independence!
We have fans that want to go indy. Blows my mind.
If you want to visit Storrs, Las Cruces, and wherever the fuck Liberty is in VA it sounds delightful.
And maybe you can play UMass at Gillette.
West Point is cool at least.
The only school that really can make it work is Notre Dame, and they're basically quasi ACC members at this point. BYU is functional but I'm pretty sure they don't think independence is a long-term solution. And they at least have some tradition and a national following because of their association with the LDS.
Liberty can put together a schedule because they have a ton of money to throw around to teams. For example, we're going there next year and they're paying us 500k. But we pay them nothing to come here. They actually have some pretty good home games lined up in the future. VT (x2), UVA (x2), UNC, Duke, Wake, and BYU. That being said, if C-USA or the Sun Belt invited them, they'd jump in a second. Both leagues turned them down despite their attempt to to buy their way in.
NMSU, UMass, and UConn should just drop to FCS.
I understand why ND wants to be independent. I think it works for the service academies as well, even though Army is the only pursuing it currently. I think it works for BYU as well because they are basically half of what ND is and half of what a service academy is. They have the nationwide support to make independence work but they aren't ever getting in the CFP.
I have no idea what the end game is for Liberty, New Mexico State, UConn, and UMass is. All of them are better served dropping. Idaho got it right when they accepted their fate and went back to the Big Sky.
The whole BYU thing is really baffling. They've beaten Tennessee, BYU, Boise State and lost to Toledo and South Florida.
Trying to beat the fuck out of the Mountain West with two big OOC games seems like a better path to the play off than independence. They literally have zero chance if they aren't 12-0 and even then the schedule needs to be perfect.
Everyone should be independent
Every team has six rivals they play annually
A central office schedules the other six
No FCS, but they can scheduled for a spring game.
No more than 7 home games
Every P5 + ND plays at least 10 P5 opponents
16 team playoff
The P5 + ND distinction would not be relevant if there werent conferences
Just let people schedule who they want
I would like conferences to all have the same number of conference games. I don’t necessarily care whether it’s 8 or 9 conference games but I usually trend to whatever leads to better games. It’s tougher for the 9 conference game conferences to have decent OOC schedules, though. Most programs aren’t going to sign up for 9 conference games and 2 more P5 OOC games. Usually limits it to 1 P5 OOC game per year with that many conference opponents otherwise you put yourself at a disadvantage to majority of other schools. Frustrating part with the 1 marquee OOC opponent a year, if they happen to suck, your OOC schedule sucks and these things get scheduled 10-15 years in the future.
I’m team 8 conference games but I’m biased because I know if 9 conference games becomes universal in the P5 it’s going to squeeze some G5/FCS games out.
People clown on Bama’s non-con but you can’t say it hasn’t been perfect for them. Play 1 P5 team (often one that’s completely outmatched) at a neutral site and 3 G5/FCS games. You’re minimizing your chances at losing and the committee doesn’t seem to care that much about SOS. A 1-loss conference champ that played a weak/average non-con probably gets in over a 2-loss champ that played a strong one.
I know you aren't on it but if you could outline why your stupid fans would rather be independent I'd appreciate it.
I mean, most of them don’t want it, but some do. C-USA sucks so bad that people would rather play 3 or so money games a year and try to find some way to fill the other 9 games. Plus we have a ton of old fans that remember when we were indy back in the day but don’t realize that it’s no longer viable unless you’re ND or BYU.
Also playing UF and ND in 2026, which will probably be the first year of the 8-year playoff
Teams seem to be scheduling for that
willie for 2026!
Less than zero chance, Gibby
herb.burdette funny timing
After a decade + of neutral site games, Bama has some fun H&H's for the next decade +.
22/23 - Texas
24/25 - Wisconsin
25/26 - FSU
26/27 - WVU
28/29 - Notre Dame
32/33 - Oklahoma
So Wisky and FSU in 25 and FSU and WVU in 26?
Looks like more teams are going back to this.
Wish LSU would get changed to a home and home
I don't mind a neutral site every couple years but every year since 2008 got old. We went to a couple of the early ones in Atlanta but the same venue every year is boring. I get why they did it, money and exposure, but it was time for a change.
I’m becoming indifferent to which teams pummel my alma mater.
Highlight of 2019 season has been getting out of the beating from ULM with an overtime win.
wins one game
"I'm back in baby! Noles for life!"
I will be going to every single one of those away games. Can't wait
Justin Fuente: "Fuck I better stop listening to Dave Matthews Band."
Could you imagine a Bama Clemson home and home???
Saban finally got an AD that would do the things he's been pitching for years. Bill Battle was a complete clown of an AD
It’s unreal how much damage he did in such a short period of time.
Since Wilcox left to work for the devil of the NCAA, fsu had scheduled uga and bama as a H/H and LSU double neutral site that might be a H/H. Not bad for an interim AD. Now fire taggart and he might have a stew going, a very budget stew.
