Hold the dark
great cast. Should have been better
Battle scenes were good. Everything else in between, yawn.
I liked 1917 more, but they’re different kinds of war movie.
Boston strangler is very entertaining
Creed was a lot better than I thought it would be
AQOTWF was very well done, but not my thing. There is enough depressing stuff around already ...
I like my WW1 fun and exciting!
We don't need bad WW1 films from the perspective of a hero's journey. 1917 did that and did it at the highest quality. I don't need to see Kevin Costner in a WW1 film.
Did you expect it to be happy or something?
Guess i don't enjoy them as much as I once did ...
Edit: Wrong thread
Some cheeky fun action scenes filled with mustard gas and trench warfare!
Damn the new black panther was such a piece of shit
Uh, Ivan? Spoilers dude - it's not even a week yet...
Has anyone seen First and Last Men? It's on Shudder.
I'm curious, because I kind of just want to listen to the movie while driving and not actually watch it. I know the movie has no actors, and is just still photos of Yugoslavian relics from a viewing standpoint.
Saw this preview before John Wick. Looks like it will be a fun way to spend 90 minutes watching Nazis die.
The point of that tweet is confusing seeing how all of those movies are the same problem with Hollywood
These sequels I like are doing better than the sequels I don’t like.
Bought my ticket to Return of the King on 4/19. 4hr20min runtime and I can't wait. HBO Max has the extended versions so I'll be watching the first 2 before then.
How many endings did they tack on?
I thought the Fellowship had some good added scenes. There's some really bad ones added to RotK
Is he going to get robbed by OJ?
Sandler's character gets into it with the Russian mafia over Julius Randle NFTs
so much frantic dialogue. can't wait
The extended Fellowship was so god damned dank
The worst scene added to RotK is
the beginning where Saruman gets pushed from his tower by wormtongue after having a whole conversation from the top of his extremely tall tower with the Fellowship below
Lee was livid over that. I’m p sure he and Jackson had beef that he took to the grave
I'm what way? That it was excluded or that it happened at all?
Hated the scene and then hated the way it was re-edited to essentially having him die off screen
Yeah it's one of the only things that I thought aged really poorly when I watched them recently. I know Sauron is the Big Bad, but we know he isn't getting defeated in the second movie. Saruman is the such a great villain and one of the main characters of TT and we get no pay off. I think he last we see of him is him standing on balcony? Lame. Peter Jackson did this in the Hobbit movies too where the movie ends and the next movie picks up and finishes off the story from the previous movie in the first 10 minutes. Pretty shitty narrative choice.
I don't expect this to be an all-time great but I am looking forward to seeing it in a theater more than anything else this year. The cast is completely bonkers.
Agreed sir. And this has a bonkers cast, too (as do most Anderson films), trailer is coming tomorrow
I mean that feels like a lot of assumptions and concern on a “3 hours” vs the 2hr 45min max
Dunkirk is Nolan’s second best movie imo. I’m big excited for Oppenheimer
Dunkirk didn't do it for me. Watched it live in the theater and then really no desire to see it again.
I really liked Tenet though so take what I say with a grain of salt
Meant to share here that I saw an early screening of the new Dungeons & Dragons movie on Wednesday night and it was actually pretty entertaining and I didn't grow up playing D&D. Solid cast and some good laughs, would recommend, especially considering there aren't a lot of other great options in theaters right now (also currently at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes btw)
I liked Dunkirk but it's Dark Knight then Interstellar for me.
The Prestige then Dunkirk for me
just saw this on my TL and thought of your post ;)
some of you mfs completely forgetting Memento exists
Tenet is like a JPEGMAFIA album for me. I know it’s supposed to be good but I can’t get past the mixing
