someone I know met the actual mom down the shore this summer. she said they actually toned her down for the show the mom is a lunatic irl.
http://nerdist.com/nerdist-podcast-adam-f-goldberg/ Adam talks about how he had to tone down the Mom character and about how the show was originally planned for Fox.
Also liked this episode because it reminded me the awesomeness of Halloween back then Now you have trick or treating during the day and that trunk or treating bullshit Pussification of America
15 years old People organize events where you put candy in your trunk and kids go car to car. Like they design their trunks/cars to be scary and stuff. its supposed to be "safer" because its normally with people you know but its just fucking creepy
was last night d&d? i watched that ep on watch abc tonight, but don't know when it aired. i really enjoy this show. i throw it and fresh off the boat on all the time when i'm just doing nothing
Do you normally watch this show? I spent the entire episode thinking about my friend Arkie Proud playing D&D in the 80s
Yeah, we watch it on Hulu. I just watched the episode after you mentioned it. Ghost Tower of Inverness is an actual tournament module, I played it in 1984-ish at the college in Little Rock (UALR) with my gaming group. We didn't win. :( There were premade characters in the module, one of them being a cleric named Zenethar. So when Adam referred to that guy as, "Zenethar the Priest", he was using an actual character from the adventure. They used the actual books as well. A few things: you don't automatically die when attacked by a gelatinous cube, it just has the ability to paralyze you so it can slowly devour you via dissolving you. When Adam said he was going to jump head first into the cube, the coach grabbed a book and said, "You realize you'll die?" while looking at the book. That book was a Player's Handbook and wouldn't detail anything about the monster. All in all, they did a good job and stayed true to the game. Obligatory
