I have a lot of friends at the club in Nashville where they have Korn Ferry event. They can buy some cool passes with free food/drink and good viewing spots.
Yeah, they’re doing something called the sky deck. It supposed to be connected to the clubhouse with a balcony or viewing area overlooking 18.
From learning more lately about just how involved the Tour already is in production and TV, I don't think a re-brand would be a significant overhaul of how stuff is presented currently. The Tour essentially already controls a lot of what can and can't be said
Tuesday is a fantastic day. Really hope they don't cancel. I have tickets for the Driver, Chip and Putt Nationals that Sunday. I need a Pimento Cheese and Egg Salad Sandwich.
My FIL is a member. Talked about trying to play in the pro am but just not in the cards this year. Think I have to go to a wedding the following weekend so might play then
Initially they were having a hard time getting people to sign up for that. Not really sure if they’ve got more interest now that it’s getting close. Assuming the rain finally lets up, the course will be pristine after the tournament. I know they’re growing the rough which will make it a lot harder.
I'm headed to Players tomorrow and Friday. They are expecting attendance to be way down. Our firm rents a house for out of town clients. Pretty much all of them has canceled. Most of teh big corporate sponsors aren't allowing their folks to travel either.
Anyone here a member of Vestavia or Muscle Shoals Club? We just hired a new golf director that was at those two clubs.
Jay went on CNBC to gloat about a broadcast deal on a day that futures were halted overnight limit down in the midst of a health pandemic. I'm sure he figured volatile times meant more eyeballs to #growthegame.
Never Played Vestavia, but use to drive by it all the time. Beautiful looking course. Been bugging some of my friends back in Bham to get me on it.
if Tiger being in the Hall means an updated commercial can replace that Gary Player one that runs on Golf Channel 5000x a day, that will be his greatest contribution to the sport
Masters should just allow all patrons to quarantine at ANGC for 14 days. Maybe rent some of those gypsy mansions to hold people.
The Masters already pipe in the bird noises, they could go full crowd soundboard and it wouldn't miss a beat
Surprised the Players is still happening tomorrow with the news from the NBA and NCAA today. They tee off in 10 hours.
War room type situation going on at ANGC right now. They were on conference call with NBA earlier. Not looking good.
I think every European player who would qualify for the Master's - or at least most of them - are sitting in Jacksonville right now. So I guess they'd have to decide if they want to stay here for a month or fly home and miss the Master's.
Love how the Tour is blindly going forward and ignoring all external noise. May as well be playing the players in Antarctica at this point.
You guys going to keep playing or lock down in your houses? If I don't work for a month is it irresponsible to play with a couple other guys?
Bro, golf is played outside on uncrowded courses. It is probably one of the safest places on earth. If my course was open, you bet i would be out there
I can't think of a better way to spend the time. Shouldn't hard to keep your distance from other people unless you're sharing a cart.
As long as Lil Bishop is still able to go to daycare I will be playing around 10:30 right after my morning calls.
I work in the club industry (tennis side) and I am really not sure what is going to happen. I think as school etc shut down you may start seeing clubs shut for a while as well. Gotta think about club staff etc Going to be tough to operate. Weird times right now.
I live on Signal, AMA. Also have a couple close friends that are members at the Honors. jplaYa, get on whenever/however you can, IMO. I am fortunate to go out there at least a 2-3 times a year. It's hard as fuck but it's a great walk and experience.
Dang, supremely jealous. Loved Signal and still have a bunch of friends up there. Don’t envy the drive though. 5 years was enough.
I live in Stuart Heights. Do not want to move onto a mountain but with another kid on the way we might. I asked you previously if you knew the guy I was talking about that lives up there that is a member.
We entertained the thought of moving up there but my wife hates driving it. She will probably also home school/coop our kids up until middle school anyway.
