Rahm for me tomorrow went to play a quick 9 holes this evening before 18 with my Dad tomorrow. Birdie putts on 6,7,8 and 9. 3 bogeys and a par.
Rahm hasn’t played well the last several months. Not sure why anyone would think it’s his to lose…he’s not even favored. It wouldn’t surprise me for anyone within 4 strokes to win tomorrow. Burns is in a great position.
It’s been putting that’s held him back recently. I feel like the course puts big emphasis on tee to green vs putting and hes looked good there so far. Plus it’s Jon Rahm. I trust him over someone like zalatoris and his yips or Fitz who hasn’t won yet. Of course someone else could win, but he would be my favorite
I think it's Rahm grinding it out or Rory on a heater. Willy Z has yet to convince me with that suspect short range putting.
Rollercoaster of a round today. 3 lost balls in the first 6 holes. 4 birdies coming off 10. 2 three putted 20 ft eagle putts on the next two par 5’s on the back. 3/4 up and downs including a sand save on the back (one was the birdie on 10). 79. I’m exhausted
I was walking around looking for a duck hooked tee shot on 6 and said: “If I had a gun right now, I’d shoot myself in the fucking face.” This game…
People keep saying this like he’s not a good putter. It’s not how it looks it’s the results. He leads the field in strokes gained putting this week (I think). Edit: led round 3, 6th for the week. It’s drizzling all morning in Brookline. That probably brings a low number into play.
He did miss back to back 5 footers on 7 and 8. Putter definitely saved him on the back. Made several 10+ ft putts to save par
If you buy a lightly used set of irons with a 1 degree flat lie, you can take them into a shop and get them re-fit/bent for what works for you right?
