I’m playing as a 4.5 right now. Not accurate as I went on a real heater last month including a 71. Legit a 6. Well, I’m inconsistent as hell so went for a lesson. First ever. Holy Christ my setup is fucked. It’s a miracle I hit it generally as well as I do. Never really focused on it, more swing mechanics/thoughts. And I’ve never really practiced. I’m like 60yds open of target at address. Lol.
So, my irons are 12 years old and I feel like it is time for a new set. I signed up for a fitting on Tuesday at a pretty good spot nearby. Anything to know before I go?
If a full field of PGATour players went through on the same day under the same conditions, he might lead by a shot. I'm sure the pin locations were very easy.
Nothing like getting home in 2 on a 673 yd par 5 and draining the putt for eagle Yeah I know right. What a loser
God I love buying new clubs. The thoughts of what could be. The optimism. The imagined future. Get them in finally. Yes! This is the time it’s different! Play a round. Fat. Toe shot after toe shot. Couple ok ones. Yup, turns out my swing is still my swing.
You've gotta be kidding me. I was watching the tape delay coverage and also switched to the Dodgers after Max came up short from the bunker. Checked in here to catch up and see that Max won... in regulation! Wild.
What's everyone gaming for a putter? I'm currently using a Cleveland blade ive had for the bettet part of 10 years and looking to change. Still would like to stay with a blade style. Just looking for other people's first hand experiences.
I’ve gone through quite a few (Scotty Newport, bettinardi, two ball oddessy) but my staple is the original white hot #2 Steve stricker that I’ve had since I was 14 yrs. It feels right
I have a 2020 Scotty Cameron phantom x5. I took the original grip off and put a super stroke flatso 1.0. I then also took out the 15 gram weights that actually weighed 14 grams. I then replaced the heel with a blacked out true 15g weight and then a 10 gram blacked out weight in the toe. Scotty doesn’t believe in face balanced putters so after doing that it feels perfect too me. Before that - ping sigma 2 tyne stealth w/ pp60 grip(I took this to my putter fitting and the fitter said it was perfect for me so switching didn’t make sense) - Evnroll ER5 w/ logo Wynn grip(honestly I probably didn’t give it long enough) - odyssey o-works 7 w/ logo superstroke slim 2.0(I think about going back to this putter all the time. Only reason I left it was because the paint started coming off in places) Spoiler other putters I’ve tinkered with or made it through a round or two. -Tech line putter - titleist bullseye - Scotty Cameron Newport detour - Nike method concept - Nike 20-20a - Scotty Cameron Newport 2018 - Bettinardi studio stock 3 I think my grandfather was apparently worse with putters
Wondering how much LIV Golf is burning per event $20m purse + probably at least a few million operating costs for the event - some very de minimis ticket sales and concessions (no sponsors, viewership money etc.) Gotta imagine they're losing like $22-23m per event right now
Once you get past that you have the other Koepka and Peter Uihlein competing in the top 10. Hilarious how much shit Brooksy used to talk and now he's not even the better Koepka.
per event plus the outlay on the initial contracts. BECAUSE of the initial outlay, they aren't going anywhere any time soon, but they'll get tired of lighting all the money on fire at some point.
Their only weapon is fuck you money. Just depends on how long they care to say fuck you. The Saudis might be willing to blow 4-5 B on this which would be like 5-6 years of acquiring talent and operating shortfalls assuming no changes to the business model. That’s a long time for the PGA to defend itself.
