Watch Champions League? I just don’t see how it is feasible to just “not mention age” and have people in their early 20s in school with 15 year olds and it just work.
Oh yeah that’s dumb. I was talking about my idea where you spend each season building tremendous tension as the adults struggle to deal with latest crisis threatening the wizard img world only to have the last episode of each season be “oh well, Harry’s figured it out.”
If they ever reboot they will go hard to be inclusive similar to the play imo. Rowling got all excites about it.
There doesn’t need to be a reboot for a long, long time. The movies did a good enough job providing a visual companion to the books that their many flaws aren’t necessary to correct anytime soon.
I think that could be interesting though I’m not sure if it’s possible to make it work for the title character to be more of a background character
You literally picked one thing out of the post to complain about. Forget that idea so you can move on with your life.
I mainly don’t want JKR to spend any of the precious time she has left focusing a single minute on a retread
Just sell the rights to Disney for 10B and let them go to town. I'm talking prequels, off shoots, origin stories, time travelling, give me some other schools, I want a law and order style wizards court TV show on ABC. I'll take a Young Sheldon crossover and the gang from the big bang theory find out that hes been hiding it from them. I literally don't care, I just want a movie every year.
Gotham is kind of like this. Batman isn't involved and young Bruce Wayne is more of a supporting character.
I thought the trailers for the first movie looked bad but the movie was a pleasant surprise. This trailer on the other hand actually looks good and makes me want to see the movie asap. I still wish they would've used the bad press to recast Depp. Is that Wizarding World logo near the beginning new? I assume that moniker is the new brand equivalent of Star Wars for the Harry Potter franchise.
I'm honestly surprised this doesn't exist. Maybe Hogwarts would be considered too small for something like that? Hell even a linear action game where you start at Kings Cross and go through a full yr (or 7 yrs?) at Hogwarts? Missions on Hogwarts Express, Diagon Alley, Forbidden Forest, Quiditch tryouts/games, Hogsmeade, even the Ministry.
I would play the shit out of this even if it was a Shadow of Mordor style game where you see no main characters
They did these in the ps1 days. They were awful because they were really limited and no effort was put into making them good
There's a 90 min Harry Potter documentary airing on the CW tonight. Just noticed it on the guide. Set your DVRs
So I’m rereading the series because why wouldn’t you and my goodness, I forgot how heartbreaking “Christmas on the Closed Ward” is in OotP.
Binge Mode podcast from the Ringer started up on Harry Potter. 3 episodes dropped so far, starting with book 1 and doing 5 chapters at a time though they also talk about stuff from later books. They’re planning to do episodes on everything from the series this summer. I’ve listened to 2 and been entertained so far.
Reddit is too much sometimes. Top post on r/harrypotter: I rewatched Order of the Phoenix and noticed something... They never tell you what the phoenix bought.
Half way through episode 2, like most of it, they giggle a bit too much for my liking but overall it's an enjoyable way to go through the story again. I also enjoy their insight to literature in general, they hit on things I never noticed or at least at much deeper levels than I ever would have on my own, the themes, foreshadowing, etc. Good stuff, thanks Shaun
The took a break after Sorcerer’s Stone movie (episode 6) and started back up today. Haven’t gotten a chance to listen yet but I’m pretty excited. Like you said, it’s a fun new way to go back through. Also, the McGalleon stuff was still cracking me up through 6 episodes. You’re right that there can be a lot of giggling. Jason cracks himself up
I started playing the iPhone game. Shitty game but seems like a good story. Just going to keep playing to see where it goes
Doing a Harry Potter trivia night tomorrow at a local bar. Gotta brush up on my knowledge as I'm sure they'll ask questions like what does SPEW stand for or what ingredients go in Polyjuice potion.
