Baron Fellowes of West Stafford, member of the House of Lords and show-runner will surely have crafted a scathing critique of the robber baron class. Julian Fellowes ought to be making a show that romanticizes Elon’s breeding Legion and Zucks heroic looks maxing transformation IMO.
One of the shows my wife and I both really enjoy and then looking up the actual historical people and discovering about them.
The official HBO podcast is great. Usually have an actor or director on to discuss the episode. Then the hosts go into the history in the show. Which is a good jumping off point to look up stuff on your own. One of the hosts has his own NYC history podcast.

I cannot pinpoint why I enjoy this show so much but I really do. Perhaps I hold it to lower standards than S-tier TV and thus I’m able to look past its flaws. Couple that with being super intrigued by NYC and this historical era and it’s a perfect mix. Larry can do better than Miss Brook tho

Yes happy it was renewed, although I was not very worried considering how popular it is. Not happy it'll probably take another year and a half for season four to come out. I'm not sure about the copper, But they have kind of two episodes to get the whole thing wrapped up. I did wonder aloud if Larry Russell was going to use his money from the sale of the clock to invest in the mines and if he was going to ask footman, John to invest as well. George does seem to be burning the candle at both ends financially. Very excited for the last two episodes. really liked the Gladys storyline and her being empowered by her mother to get her husband to stand up to his sister. That was about freaking time. Was also hoping that Oscar Van Ryan would be able to get a shot at Crowther for stealing all of his money ...
i did this and found there is a huge copper mine there, but no mention that any of the people George Russell is based on (Jay Gould / Vanderbilt) bought it or owned it that i could find ...
