So Soler has been awful since he returned. Great news being we have him under contract for two more years and he is unable to play the OF!
My solution... If a ball over 92 MPH that would qualify as in the "up and in" quadrant hits a batter, then it counts as a homer and the pitcher is ejected. We have the technology to discern the up and in quadrant with the box, so that would eliminate any subjectivity from the ruling. I think that the speed qualification would negate almost anything off-speed, and the game would be definitively safer for the hitters. That said, I've never played baseball at a high level, and am not taking into account the nuances pitchers face. I'm sure they'd all be against my proposed rule, just as they are all against the robo umps.
