help me understand you said "their plan" "not an extended warranty" and "after 3 years" what exactly did you buy and take back?
I had no idea Home Depot was held with such sanctimony. I promise you a detailed breakdown this weekend. Kind of looking forward to my roasting since we're already implying things.
I lowballed the shit out of a home under construction where the original purchaser had to back out due to job relocation. Got word from my realtor that they might let it go for a song so that they could still close before Q2. They accepted my offer today. Now I get to move and sell my original house.
I noticed our yard starting to look brown. We have sprinklers set to go off around 5 in the morning so I rarely notice them anymore since I’m home on short term disability and don’t leave early like I used to. I go to the sprinkler box and it’s turned off. This is the second time it’s happened. I posted on the neighborhood Facebook page and several people commented how theirs gets turned off randomly. I can only assume it’s some kids playing pranks. Looks like I’m going to putting some type of grass feed out this weekend.
Our buyer had the home inspection a week ago and still has not submitted a repair request, only the findings. The buying agent is new and has been nothing short of a pain in the ass since day one.
Going to repair an area of cinder block retaining wall in my backyard. Seems pretty straight forward, just need to replace the part of the top row where the old ones broke or fell off. I have never done any sort of masonry work before. Apart from cinder blocks and caps what the fuck else do I need? Masonry spackle thing and masonry mix?
Spent the last two days acid cleaning and applying an epoxy coat. Used rustoleum professional grade product with 100% solids. Will put a pic up tomorrow. Also feel like the last two day probably cost 10 years of my life due to inhaling chemical fumes......
This weekend I extended the supports for my deck. Extending it out another 8’, resupporting the existing deck structure and completely redecking the top. Gonna also build in a bench and add rails. Deck building isn’t terrible work, but digging holes is right up there with sanding floors.
new siding gets delivered tomorrow, work starts on Wednesday back deck rebuild starts asap after that wife just picked out a new backyard pergola for the firepit area need to put in an outdoor shower to rinse off after coming off the lake wife wants new outdoor furniture fuck me
Once we finish the deck, I’ve gotta build a fire pit/patio area. Sandwiched between a kitchen remodel. I’m pretty sure I’ll never get this house the way that I want it.
I went down a google earth wormhole and ended up seeing that whoever owns my house from two houses ago tore down the deck I built and didn’t really even put anything in its place. Would it be wrong to knock on the door and demand an explanation?
anyone dealt with best buy appliance delivery before? it's been a fucking nightmare. we were lucky and got the appliances we were already going to buy on open box since they stopped selling this particular brand in store (frigidaire gallery collection) and had the whole set in store. microwave/oven show up great, dishwasher shows up damaged so we have to order a different brand and will likely have to pay the difference even though they fucked it up. however, the fridge we ordered (which was in perfect condition in the store and about $1000 off from the original price) somehow has gotten lost in the warehouse. it was supposed to be delivered the same day as everything else but just never came, it got re-scheduled for tomorrow between 4-8, now it's disappeared again and nobody at the warehouse knows what's going on. i just moved into my new house and have been sitting here without a fridge for 4 days and it looks like i wont be getting one any time soon i'm supposed to have a "case manager" call me tomorrow but the lady i talked to said my ticket was red flagged, so that's great. how do they lose a fucking fridge
I've gotten a fridge and a dishwasher from them in the last like 8 months and never hsd anything but great results
yeah the items that came in were perfect, i was a little bummed about the dishwasher but the fridge is what's really pissing me off. nobody knows what's going on
My full set of appliances came from best buy. I was pretty happy with the whole process. Only about 9 months in though.
Accepted an offer for list 2 days after posting this weekend. Best out of three offers. Worried about the appraisal though, been a couple of low balls in our neighborhood that are screwing everyone else.
Just got word today that everything is good to go on the buyer’s side for my house. Closing Friday next week and I’ll officially be homeless.
Like how much fucking water did you spill to have it go through hardwoods, plywood and pool enough to stain your Sheetrock? Like how fucking thirsty are you? And why in the hell didn’t you clean it up sooner or not leave it for the cat to knock over in the first place? And you want to know how many cups of water my dogs have knocked off of my nightstand? Zero. Because dogs aren’t assholes. Get a dog.
And you actually suggested spot refinishing your hardwoods due to your cat knocking over water. I’m completely floored. That’s like me rebuilding parts of my house from termite damage instead of just getting rid of the termites.
Get up and have some words with the old bitty who is turning it off hat so they can have the best lawn in the neighborhood
Just got inspection report on my house. Reported flying squirrels in the attic. Company quoted $1400 for "complete exclusion". Does this sound reasonable?
Best Buy update: got a text saying the delivery got moved again to Thursday with no explanation. Weeeee
Anyone ever done a moving sale? I’m planning on having one this weekend. Trying to sell everything I own because I’m moving out of the country on the 25th. No clue on if I should try to price things or just go with the “make me an offe route. Really dreading doing this shit, but it’s gotta be done.
If it were me I'd price things appropriately and let them know offers will be entertained and just take what you feel is fair when the time comes
Going to be doing the same thing soon. Pretty much wanting people to pay me to take stuff so I don't have to pay to store it. Am going to be very flexible on price.
Yeah that’s the problem. I don’t remember what most of this shit cost me, nor do I know what a reasonable price would be.
Just reasonable for what you want out of it like "all this shit over here is 20 bucks but feel free to make me an offer"
