I start running my Bosch when people come over just to show off. Love that thing
What’s the best way to dispose of an insurance agents body? Hypothetically of course...
Bosch dish washer on Heavy Wash setting. You won't even hear anything.
I'm debating on whether or not I want to spend the money to fence in the backyard. I can connect to both neighbors but still.
Do you have a dog and/or kids?
I'd probably do it regardless. Hide all your shenanigans.
Dogs and kid on the way. It's going to be a split rail fence. No hiding the meth lab that looks like a greenhouse in my backyard.
billdozer do you have any pigs on your farm?
Be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm
A fence seems like a smart investment for resale as well. We added a front privacy fence to replace the old chain length and it looks so much better.
So I'm in the process of setting up all my smart home stuff now.
Is there any reason to get anything bigger than a Google home mini?
I set mine up years ago, but I ended up going with a smartthings device. You might look into it as you can integrate with Amazon/Google devices last time I checked. Its sold by Samsung.
Nah, pigs are nasty creatures. We do have coyotes though.
Someone was asking about low voltage lighting a while back. Finally got around to wiring up these trees. Used volt lighting and they’re quality for sure. Would recommend.
Still need to make a few adjustments to them but they really tie the back yard together.
Might be busy for a while. Still have 8 more trees to do
My house without a fence
My house with a fence
Build a fence
Here’s another shot now that it’s darker outside
You have a link to these?
Those 10W are beasts. 7W would have been plenty
How'd you bury the wire?
Cross any sidewalks?
Just used a flat shovel to insert into the sod about 4-6” and separate it enough to be able to push the wire in and then used my feet to push the sod back together. After a week or so it’ll grow back to where you don’t see the line.
luckily no sidewalks to maneuver
Ive done the same to repair a sprinkler zone that had a short somewhere between it and the zone before
worked really well, but damn my back was done for a day or two after
I want to put lights like that out front on some of my trees, but I cant figure how to get there without going under a sidewalk, or having to have multiple power sources
You can pull an expansion seam if there’s one available and cover it with that sidewalk caulk
I would go with a kentucky board 3 rail fence, with a liner.
That's exactly what the fence guy recommended and wants to put in. He said it lasts a lot longer than the other types of split rail fences.
That's what I just got put in my yard in the fall. I'd like to water seal it, just haven't yet.
I just don't want to spend the $2K right now. I know I should but I'm looking for any reason not to.
How about solar?
solar lights are terrible
how many linear feet?
185 but then a neighbor said I could just use theirs down one side. So the feet is going to be a little less than that now. I was quoted at $2400, so I'm hoping it'll be under $2K now.
I've tried a couple, but solar under trees doesn't really work well
That's a pretty good price I think.
Yea it’s a killer deal from what I understand.
I paid $2900 for 190ft, so yeah. I also got 5 quotes, and this was the cheapest.
I'm hoping to get it to $1800-$2000 and then I'll do it. I don't like spending all of this money at once. Down payment, painting whole interior, fence, etc.
Exactly. We moved from our first house last summer and I didn't realize all the other costs that come with it. I wanna do so many more things, but $$$$.
Bought our house in the Fall from a couple that had been here 50 years and everything was just overgrown and out of control so during quarantine we decided to tackle all of the landscaping. Bit off wayyyyy too much but its coming to a wrap and it came out great. Saved a lot of money doing it ourselves. Anyway, went with volt lights for the front and it might be my favorite thing we put in. They look so good. Have not done the backyard yet but will be doing volt in the back as well. They are very very good quality and look great. They really are not that much cheaper than if you have to piece together a much inferior transformer, wire, connectors, and lights than buying a volt kit through costco.
Can’t see the pics.
Pic ain't working for me
And I was really looking forward to seeing it
Should work now. I am not the best posting pictures lol. We have moved a few things since these pictures but for the most part its close. Will post some more when I finish everything.
Looks great! Nice work
Landscape work sucks. Just transplanted 3 box woods. -10/10 would not recommend.
Now I have clear beds to plant the dozen new plants I got earlier this week. Should be easier than step 1.
Looks great. We did the same under the same type of circumstances (neglected old landscaping), though only the front yard, and no lighting at this time.
It could be the lighting (if so, disregard), but it appears your crepe myrtles in the backyard have scale. The problem is relatively easy to treat but takes some time. https://citybugs.tamu.edu/files/2010/05/EHT-049-Crape-myrtle-bark-scale.pdf
I personally would have left the tree in the front, but that's just me, I'm a tree guy.
Does anyone use Vivint Smart Home for their home security? Currently have ADT and thinking of switching. Reviews? Sorry if this has been discussed previously.
Great job. Looks outstanding
