I can see who we're chasing by just logging onto twitter with hoozgotnext retweets and so'to liking recruits.
It drive me most crazy in basketball because I don't see why every kid ranked 50-150 with an offer is listening to coaches lie to them saying they'll put up 20 shots a game as a freshman instead of banging down our door to commit but I'm not biased.
We really need to kill 2019 in basketball. Read on the sabre today Stattman has grown 2 inches. I was skimming the page but I think that's what was said.
I really thought we were going to close on a stacked 2018 class and that next year or 2019 was going to be the year we won the title. I was debating with myself the other day whether the Syracuse collapse or the Nichols suspension did more damage to the program. If I had to change one, I'd obviously have us win against Syracuse to make the Final 4 and maybe even win the title. But it's hard to argue that the effects of suspending our best player after one game last year didn't have longer lasting impacts on the national narrative surrounding the program, especially once Wilkins got sick. Plus, Nichols would likely still be on the team this year, which would make us truly terrifying. We still really miss a big with a true post game like Gill had.
In all seriousness I do see a lot of Brogdon in his game. Mostly in how big he is already. His handle and shot look like early Brogdon too. It’s clearly too early to be giving anyone that kind of expectations but Baby Brogdon sounds better than Poor Man’s Brogdon. It was really nice to see him contribute tonight. Made me feel much better about the future.
I'm going to be terrified once the NCAAT starts. The expectations being placed on these kids seems unfair.
Same. For me it’s the lack of post offense. The offense isn’t bad but it’s not great like it was in 15-16, and we’re entirely reliant on jump shots and floaters. We’ve been able to make them all year but not having a reliable post scorer still scares me come tourney time. We’ll have to shoot our way out of any slump.
Any goodwill Bronco built up with the first half of last season evaporated in the second half and particularly in the bowl game. This isn't helping. I'm just happy basketball is going so well that I can put football in the back seat - something I never thought I'd be able to do.
I was at the game last night. Was kind of a late arriving crowd, took everyone a while to settle in. The back-to-back Ty 3's got the place rocking though. Also 99.999% sure I saw Tunji Soroye at that Zin Burger bar in the Barracks shopping center.
Yeah it was awkwardly quiet at the beginning. I guess a late arriving crowd makes sense for a 7 PM weeknight game. Nolte and Bub were both apparently at the game last night too. Nolte's been to a handful of games recently, though I thought he was in SF now?
Hell, I didn't realize Jordan Miller was ever committed. I check his Twitter the weekend he was visiting, at least I think he was in town, and it had Miami shit everywhere.
Sabre poster claiming Aramark employees at UVA have been asked to prepare for College Gameday next Saturday. Seems like a BS rumor but I heard the exact rumor (food services being asked to prepare) from JMU people when they went there this fall. Glad we're getting it again but admittedly a bit of a headscratcher of a game to pick.
25,000 for the game today. I think if Hunter is healthy again we could blow the doors off them but I’m still nervous.
What fucking channel is this game on? My TV guide says it’s on CBS, which is actually UK-Mizzou, and the WatchESPN feed is blacked out b/c I’m in Richmond.
Yea we’re good. Was out at a bar and kinda panicking b/c the bartender was just like “yea, guess we’re not showing it”.
Really don't feel great about tonight but I've been proven wrong many times this season. Kicking the 30 year habit of expecting the worst from the Hoos is really tough.
definitely could be a tough one. FSU doesnt play defense so much and I feel like we score well enough to pull it out though. never know when that "other team shoots weirdly well" game is going to pop up
Yeah I am more scared of Miami than FSU but I think we go 1-1 and I'd rather lose this one tbh. Too bad I don't get to pick.
